(Francis Creek, WI) – Brian Mullen had to wait seven days to pick up his first feature win of the season at 141 Speedway in the IMCA Modifieds. It was well worth the wait as he took home the top prize of $1000 for the Red race win.

A total of 176 cars showed up to compete for the weekly show. 11 Features were run as 141 Speedway ran a double show because of a partial rainout on May 28th.

Jay Matthias rocketed from his front row starting spot in the IMCA Modifieds. He looked early to be the man to beat until he caught lapped traffic. Matthias had to slow for the lapped vehicles allowing Brian Mullen to play catch up. Mullen reeled in Mathias and used a power move down low to grab the lead for good off of turn four. Mullen held off a late charge from Matthias to take home the win. Benji LaCrosse moved to third late over Tyler Wilson. Russ Reinwald finished fifth. Mullen’s win earned him a spot on the voting ballet for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational Race at the IMCA Super Nationals.

The second portion of The IMCA Modified show was called due to fog and unsafe driver conditions. The IMCA Modifieds will run double features next week with the second feature being the White race for $1000 to win.

The Makeup IMCA Stockcar race saw Billy Lemieux shoot from third to first on the opening lap and pull away from the field over the final 10 laps. Lemieux scored the win but was disqualified for an illegal carburetor. The win and $1000 pay day was awarded to Jeremy Christians. The finishing order behind Christians included Larry Karcz Jr, Kyle Frederick, Brett Wenzel and Barry Van Straten.

Bret Koehler was the early leader in the IMCA Stockcar Feature until problems in turn two would hand the lead over t0 John Heinz. Heinz would dominate until a mid-race caution brought Kyle Frederick into the picture. Heinz stayed low on the restart which allowed Frederick all the race track he wanted upstairs. Frederick pulled even after a few laps and bolted into the lead on lap 16. Frederick led the final five circuits to pick up his second win of the season. Heinz finished second in front of Todd Augustian. Brett Wenzel charged from 18th to fourth. Troy Muench finished fifth.

Defending Champion Hunter Parsons was on a rail for the IMCA Sportmod Make up Feature. Parsons started third and had the lead after the first lap. Parsons only obstacle was a couple of cautions in the first half of the race that allowed the field to stay near and dear. Parsons handled in like a champion and picked up the win, his first of 2016. Kelsy Hayes won a race long duel for second over Cody Schroeder. J.J. Anderson and Travis Arenz were fourth and fifth.

Travis Hansen was the king of the IMCA Sportmod Main Event early in the regular portion of the show. He led through a caution flag and would start to get pressure from Chris Budzban. Budzban would move into the top spot on lap 13 bringing Travis Arenz along for the fun. Arenz would make quick work of Budzban and pull away for the win and the outright point lead. Budzban would finish second and Hansen third. Bill Edler won the battle for fourth over Kevin Bethke.

Kraig Koehler dominated the first six laps of the rescheduled Street Stock Feature. Koehler’s domination ended when a blown motor would sideline him for the rest of the evening. Justin Mahlberg would inherit the lead with Paul Diefenthaler right behind. Diefenthaler pulled into the lead on lap eight and never looked back in garnishing the win. Ed Anschutz would come around to second. He was followed in third by Andy Fuhrmann, Erik Turner and Mike Carter.

Fans were treated to a caution free Street Stock Feature for the regular portion of the show. Doug Engleking was the race leader until the power houses came calling. Paul Diefenthaler and Ed Anschutz found their way into the top two spots on the field. Diefenthaler would run his patented low line tough but it was not the quickest way around on this night. Anschutz searched around on top and found the line his racer loved. Anschutz moved outside of Diefenthaler and into the lead on lap 15. Anschutz took the win in front of the point leader, Diefenthaler. Jason White started 12th and finished third. Justin Mahlberg and Kyle Genett finished out the top five.

The Brian Peterson Builder’s Grand National Feature saw a familiar face in victory lane after 20 laps. Kevin Naidl led through the cautions early and took control late. Naidl picked up his first win of the season after being out early for an injury. Terry Van Roy finished second after a late pass on Steven Wirtz. Logan Rhode finished fourth with Steve Weber fifth.

Shaun Bangart claimed the rescheduled IMCA Sport Compact Feature event. He won late over Mike Zitzer. Ryan Georgia, Nick Everard and Mike Meier trailed when checkered flag flew.

Bangart would claim the second IMCA Sport Compact Feature and double up on the night. Bangart took the win right in front of Matt Brehmer and Mike Zitzer. Brian Watzka Jr and Jeremy Aiken both finished in the top five.
