BEAVER DAM, Wisc. — June 2, 2016 — The Seventh Annual Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial presented by Karavan Trailers for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Beaver Dam Raceway in Wisconsin is just three weeks away on Saturday, June 25. The series recently returned to the Midwest, where they will remain for the month of June.

Shane Stewart won his third race of the season on Memorial Day evening at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana in a thriller over David Gravel and Rico Abreu. Stewart and Abreu traded the lead officially three times, but unofficially they swapped the lead a number of times, often twice in the same lap, as they traded slide jobs. Gravel took second in the late going from Abreu, who ended up third, with NASCAR driving Kyle Larson finishing fourth and Daryn Pittman fifth.

On Friday, May 27, Greg Wilson picked up his first win of the season at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. The leading contender for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award used a late-race charge on the low side of the track to make a last lap pass of Stewart to score the victory. Stewart, who led 25 laps, finished second, with Cole Duncan earning a career-best third-place finish.

Brad Sweet continues to lead the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series standings, but seven-time and defending champion Donny Schatz has closed to within 37 markers. Pittman is currently third, with Stewart fourth and Joey Saldana rounding out the top-five. David Gravel is currently sixth in points, with Jason Johnson seventh, Logan Schuchart eighth, Jason Sides ninth and Paul McMahan 10th.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series heads to Fremont Speedway in Ohio and I-96 Speedway in Michigan this weekend.
