Rice Lake WI, May 28 – The UMSS(Upper Midwest Sprint Series) special scheduled for Saturday at the Rice Lake Speedway, was canceled due to rain and wet grounds. The special, that was featuring both the Winged and Traditional Sprints, along with a full show of the five classes that regularly race at the Speedway, will not be made up. The Traditional Sprints will, however, join the program at the speedway again on August 27th for the regular season finale.
Next up, weather permitting, will be two programs to be conducted in the next ten days. Next Saturday, June 4th , the regular five classes will return to conduct a full racing program. And then, just three days later, a special Tuesday night show will be held on June 7th will all five classes again in action. It will be the Aquafest Trophy races as a part of the city wide Aquafest celebration and with it being a midweek race night, many travelers are expected to join the Rice Lake regulars in what should be an outstanding midweek presentation.
Both programs will feature warm ups beginning at 6:30 p.m with racing to follow and the cut off both nights will be at 6:30p.m. For more information, visit the speedway website at www.ricelakespeedway.net or check out the facebook page. Dave Adams can be reached at 715-205-2861.
