(Francis Creek, WI)- Kodi Wirtz picked up his second win of the season in the Brian Peterson Builder’s Grand Nationals. 157 cars entered the pits but the only other winner besides Wirtz was Mother Nature.
Double Features will be run on June 4th for the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stockcars, IMCA Sportmods, Street Stocks and IMCA Sport Compacts. The Grand Nationals will race one heat and one feature as they had completed their portion of the program. The IMCA Modified and IMCA Stockcar winners will take home $1000 for the first feature.

Next Saturday Night, June 4th, The night will start with the IMCA Stockcar Feature beginning on lap 10 with Karcz as the leader and the rest of the current running order behind. The IMCA Sportmod, Street Stock, IMCA Sport Compact, and IMCA Modified Features will then be run to complete the May 28th program. The track will recalculate point averages and the June 4th program will run Heats and Features in all six divisions.

Two-time Champion Kevin Naidl started on the pole and checked out like he was at a grocery store early in the Brian Peterson Builder’s Grand National Feature. A caution on lap four brought everyone back into play. On the restart, Kodi Wirtz found all the speed he needed to charge to the front from his 10th starting spot. Wirtz tried the extreme high line and then brought his racer down just a bit to find the right groove. He caught Naidl on the outside and charged passed on lap 10. Wirtz pulled away gradually over the second half of the race to pick up his second win of the season and extend his point lead. Naidl finished in the second spot. Shawn Schmitt passed Tim Mueller late to finish third. Greg Haese rounded out the top five.
