Ashland, WI — The ABC Raceway will honor those who have bravely served in our country’s military by hosting Armed Services Night, presented by the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, on Saturday night.
All active and retired service personnel showing a valid military ID will be admitted free of charge at the main grandstand gate of the three-eighths-mile red clay oval located just south of Ashland for the May 28 race program.
“It’s the least we can do to show our appreciation to those men and women who have done so much and given so selflessly to protect and preserve our freedom,” stated Raceway board president Eric Erickson earlier this week.
All fans in attendance will be treated to a night of bonus race action, as WISSOTA-sanctioned Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Mods and Pure Stocks, plus the track’s own Six-Cylinders, will run a complete program of qualifying heats and features immediately after make-up features are completed for the Supers, Mid-Mods and Pure Stocks.
Last Saturday’s shorted race program will be completed over the course of the next two scheduled race nights. The big Mods and Sixes are slated to make up their features on June 4.
Younger fans ages 3-8 are welcome to sign up for the ABC Raceway Kids’ Club at the track just prior to the races this Saturday. Those who have already signed up will receive their Kids’ Club member bags this week, which will include t-shirts, concession coupons, a checkered flag and more.
The Raceway’s live pre-race radio program, “Z-93 Race Night,” will air Saturday on WBSZ, 93.3 FM, and online at www.wbszfm.com, from 4:30-6 pm with up-to-date track news and weather information.
Hot laps begin at 6:15 pm, and the first of the three make-up features will start at 7. Adult tickets are just $11 each, and kids ages 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult admission.
The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road. For raceday information call (715) 682-4990, or log on anytime to the track’s website, www.abcraceway.com.
