(Francis Creek, WI)- Johnny Whitman earned a huge payday by winning the IMCA Modified Feature event. Whitman scored $680 in lap money plus regular feature winnings.
Other winners included: John Heinz (IMCA Stockcars) J.J. Anderson (IMCA Sportmods) Paul Diefenthaler (Street Stocks) Shawn Schmitt (Grand Nationals) and Ethan Beattie (IMCA Sport Compacts)

Brandon Long started up front of some heavy hitters early in the IMCA Modified Feature. He stayed out front with Johnny Whitman in tow. R.C. Whitwell came calling up front with Brad Lautenbach. Long would lead until a slight hiccup would have Whitwell get into the leader sending him spinning. Whitman would take the lead but have to battle through a series of cautions. Whitwell, Lautenbach and Tyler Hackett would all take their cracks at Whitman but the two-time defending track champion was too strong. He fended off one last challenge from Whitwell on the final lap to take home the big win. Whitwell beat Hackett to the line for second by less than a car length. Lautenbach crossed the line fourth with R.M. VanPay fifth.

Dylan Heilman started on the front row of the IMCA Stockcar Feature and quickly ran his racer to the front of the line. Tony Bouche would grab the second spot and force Heilman to stay true. A caution on lap four would allow John Heinz a chance for the top spot. Heinz would move into second and then eventually the lead with a power move down low on lap 11. Heinz cruised the rest of the way to his first win of the season. Heilman finished second ahead of Bouche. Larry Karcz finished fourth. Troy Muench finished fifth after marching from his 16th starting spot.

Travis Arenz looked to be the car to beat early in the IMCA Sportmod Feature. He jumped out front and seemed to be in complete control until a couple of cautions flew mid-race. J.J. Anderson bolted from his ninth starting spot to the front and raced for second with Cody Schroeder. Anderson would take care of business and allow himself to focus on the leader. A caution with a handful of laps remaining proved to be the demise of Arenz. Arenz racer didn’t come to speed and allowed Anderson to jet into the lead and go on a Saturday night stroll to victory lane. Arenz was able to maintain his second spot over Schroeder. Bruce Belland was scored fourth with Billy Edler fifth at the checkered flag.

Eric Turner and Allen Dillon traded the lead early in the Street Stock Main Event. Dillon took control until slamming into a tire and having his night end because of no front bumper. When green flag racing resumed, it was Turner who found himself captain of the ship. But unfortunately for him, Paul Diefenthaler didn’t want to settle for first mate. Diefenthaler tracked down Turner and ran away with the win late. Turner had to settle for second. Kraig Koehler, Andy Fuhrmann and Greg Bruce all finished in the top five.

Shawn Schmitt scored his first Grand National Feature win of the season but not without some hard racing at the end of the race. Schmitt seemed in control of his own destiny as he powered away from the field. Kody Wirtz got to second and slowly caught the leader after being a straightaway back. Wirtz would eventually get to the leader on the white flag lap. Wirtz tried to get underneath Schmitt in the final two corners but didn’t have enough. Schmitt stayed strong and picked up the win in front of Wirtz. Logan Rhode finished a solid third in his new car with Greg Haese and Terry Van Roy finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

The only green to checker finish of the night occurred in the IMCA Sport Compact Feature. Ethan Beattie won a hard fought, three car battle between himself. Roger Braun and Mike Meier. Beattie took home the checkered flag off the final corner over Braun and then Meier. Brody Rivest finished fourth while Mike Zitzer was fifth.
