ABC Raceway to Host Practice Night May 11
on May 7, 2016 at 11:43 pmAshland, WI — The ABC Raceway will give local drivers the opportunity to get the “bugs” out of their race cars before kicking off the 2016 stock car racing season for real by offering a practice session on Wednesday evening, May 11.
The session will begin at 5 pm and run until no later than 8 pm at the award-winning three-eighths-mile red-clay oval located just south of Ashland. The cost to run some shake-down laps will be $30 per car; however, drivers and crew personnel will be admitted into the pit area free of charge.
The main grandstand will also be open, and fans are welcome to come and get their first glimpse of many of the area’s best racers run a few laps. There will be no admission price to watch from the main grandstand.
The 2016 season starts in earnest on Saturday night, May 14, with five racing divisions in action – WISSOTA-sanctioned Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Pure Stocks, as well as the Raceway’s own Six-Cylinders. Hot laps begin at 6:15 pm, and the first green flag of the night is scheduled to be thrown at 7. Adult tickets are just $11 each, and kids ages 12 and under admitted free with a paid adult admission.
The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road. “Z-93 Race Night” will air each racing night beginning this Saturday on WBSZ, 93.3 FM, and online at www.wbszfm.com, from 4:30-6 pm with up-to-date track news and weather information.
