Rice Lake Speedway Announces 2016 Hall of Fame Class
on April 13, 2016 at 11:16 amRice Lake WI – The Rice Lake Speedway Hall of Fame committee recently met and selected their nominees to join the Rice Lake Speedway Hall of Fame. The 2016 group with be the sixth group of inductees elected to join the Hall. As in previous years, voting was conducted in two categories. One group will consist of drivers and the second group will consist of Friends of the Speedway which includes such people as car owners, sponsors, former Board Members and supporters of the Rice Lake Speedway along with race fans, race mechanics and employees of the track.
Six new members will make up the class of 2016. Selected as the three drivers of this year’s class are Rick Ellis, Don(Doc) Cimfl and Dave Erickson. The three Friends of the Speedway include Troy Newman, Ralph Sirek and the late George Cook.
The actual induction ceremony will take place on Saturday night, August 13th during the intermission of that night’s racing program. The six new members of the Hall will be feted in a pre race social hosted by track co-owners Dave Adams and Mitch Hansen at which the thirty eight members already elected to the Hall will also be invited to socialize with the new inductees.
