Rice Lake Speedway Practice Schedule Changes; Opener Still On
on April 11, 2016 at 10:00 amRice Lake WI – Weather conditions have prompted a change in the practice schedule announced for next week at the Rice Lake Speedway. However, the most important news is that the opener, scheduled for April 16th, remains on as scheduled.
Practice sessions had originally been announced for Tuesday, April 12th and Wednesday, April 13th. However, after examining the track and checking on the ten day forecast, it has been decided to delay the practice date until Thursday, April 14th. This will allow the track to have a couple more days of sun and wind before the race cars get on the track for the first time.
The change in the schedule may also be beneficial for the out of town drivers also. Many northern drivers are expected to join the field this weekend and with the practice now slated for Thursday, it will allow many of those drivers to practice on Thursday and then head directly to the opening weekend events on Friday and then back to Rice Lake on Saturday.
The practice session is slated to be from 6-9 pm and drivers in all classes are invited to attend the open practice session.
Then, on Saturday, the sixty fourth consecutive season of racing in Rice Lake commences with the first green flag to drop shortly after 6:30 pm for the Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks and Rice Lake Pure Stocks.
