Fan Appreciation Night this Friday at Eagle River Speedway
on September 4, 2015 at 7:00 amThis Friday Night, Eagle River Speedway will host a special Fan Appreciation Night. In addition to numerous special races, fan admission will only be $5.00. The legendary Tri-Oval will have racers from different race sanctioning bodies compete, along with the return of 2 other additional classes and the popular one-on-one Spectator Races.
Earlier this summer street-legal cars raced against each other. These special races were well received by the fans, so the popular Northern Wisconsin track decided to bring these races back for this special night of racing.
In addition to the Spectator One-on-one races, the WISSOTA Midwest Modified drivers will compete against the IMCA Sport Modified racers.
“This puts two of the top race sanctioning bodies and two of the top classes from each circuit head up against each other, and they will compete on the challenging Tri-Oval,” commented Kevin Dawson of Eagle River Speedway.
In addition to the WISSOTA vs. IMCA Midwest Modified/Sport Modified challenge, the popular Northern Wisconsin one/third mile clay track will open its racing confines to racers from Western Wisconsin tracks that have a class comparable to Eagle River Speedway’s Pure Stock Class.
To make the special 9/11 race even more exciting, fans will see the return of the Pro Trucks.
“Here is a class that we used to run and the fans loved. The Pro Truck races this Friday Night are going to add to a night of very competitive racing,” remarked Dawson.
Also making a return to Eagle River Speedway will be the ATV/Quad races. They will be racing high performance ATV’s built for racing on clay Stock Car Tracks.
“Fans had a chance to see the speed and talent level of these Quad racers less than a month ago here at Eagle River Speedway, then they saw them at the recent ATV and Side by Side races at the Derby track…so I am expecting them to really show their ‘metal’ this Friday Night,” stated Eagle River Speedway track announcer, Skip Schulz.
The Class Point Champions were crowned the previous week. This will not be a ‘point’ race, so track officials are expecting the racers to ‘hold nothing back’ for this Friday Night’s special race. Track officials also state that it’s also at the end of the summer that conditions are amicable for a ‘tacky’ track.
“This offers the racers in all 7 classes to race at some of the fastest speeds they have raced at all year,” acknowledged Dawson.
While some may think that summer ends after Labor Day weekend. At Eagle River Speedway they say, ‘summer isn’t over, till we say it’s over.’
“After all, even the calendar says summer doesn’t end till September 23rd, since summer isn’t over, we want to show our appreciation for the fan support, and that is why we’re having the $5.00 admission,” concluded Dawson.
Racing to get underway at 7:00 pm CT this coming Friday Night.
