Menomonie, Wisconsin (August 21, 2015) the Red Cedar Speedway was in action on Friday, August 21, 2015, as Today’s WAXX 104.5 FM sponsored the 2015 Season Championships in the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Modifieds, and Late Models, along with the Kadinger Auto Salvage Pure Stocks and Value Implement Hornets. Feature winners included Mike Prochnow, Kevin Adams, Mike Anderson, Ron Hanestad, Mike Knopps, and Leslie Jackson as every winner on the night scored a clean sweep winning both heat and feature.
The T.L. Sinz Plumbing Late Models saw Mike Prochnow win the heat and lead every lap of the feature to win the season championship. Rick Hanestad drove from the outside of row one to finish second as AJ Diemel beat Jake Redetzke and John Kaanta in the top five.

The Tim’s Automotive Modifieds saw Kevin Adams and Ashley Anderson win their heats as Adams swept the nights action. Adams drove to the lead from the pole position as the first of several cautions saw Jay Richardson spin in turn two. After the restart, Mark Hanson spun in turn two and Ashley Anderson was called for the caution and relegated to the rear. The green flag flew as Adams led the way but a spinning Matt Leer slowed the action again. The race resumed but a debris caution reset the field one last time. Mike Anderson worked low to get to the lead under Adams but last starting Jake Hartung came to battle Anderson for second. It was Hartung who gained the advantage and opportunity to race Adams for the lead but Adams was too tough. At the line it was Adams, Hartung, Mike Anderson, Ashley Anderson, and Matt Leer who finished fifth.
The Johnson Motors Super Stocks heats were won by Jason Forehand, Jesse Redetzke, and Mike Anderson as Anderson went on to sweep the night being the only feature winner in the evening not coming from the front row. Forehand lead lap one, but Anderson took over the position from his third starting position on lap two. However, Joel Peterson came to a stop on the backstretch, drawing the caution and restoring Forehand to the lead. Another caution flew quickly resetting the field again and as the came to green, Forehand had his hands full as Anderson hugged the tires and Forehand drove the high side in a battle for the point. Again, the yellow flag flew with Forehand with the advantage. Anderson immediately resumed his relentless battle for the win and was not going to be denied as he took the point and led to the line for his tenth Super Stock feature win of the season. Forehand finished a strong second as 11th starting Lucas Plank drove to third. Jesse Redetzke finished fourth over fifth place Cole Spacek.
The Southworth Chevrolet Midwest Modifieds three heats were won by Shane Halopka, Grant Southworth, and Michael Truscott as Halopka held the pin for the feature and went on to win the season championship. Halopka took an immediate lead as the race was slowed early for debris on the track. He drove back to the point on the restart as Truscott settled into second. Behind them, Grant Southworth raced his brand new MB Custom racecar for the first time and battled with Jake Smith for position. Halopka proved his dominance as he drove to a straight stretch lead before a spinning Jason Richardson drew the caution and set up a green, white, checkered finish. It was Halopka winning his 21st feature of the season as Truscott, Nick Koehler, Grant Southworth, and the ninth starting Mark Thomas rounded out the top five.
Conrad’s Auto Salvage Street Stocks saw heat winners Ron Hanestad and Jim Randall on the front row and the pole position was all Hanestad needed to drive to another win in his seemingly ageless racecar. Randall settled into second as Adam Soltis and Mike Knudtson fought door to door for third and Kori Richter raced against Sam Fankhauser for fifth. Hanestad stretched his dominating lead over Randall who in kind stretched his lead over the battle for third which was won by Soltis over Knudtson as Richter claimed fifth at the finish.
The Kadinger Auto Salvage Pure Stock heat was won by Mike Knopps as he went on from the pole of the feature to sweep the championship. Behind Knopps, the feature had a good battle for second position between Jesse Bryan and Jason Havel which wasn’t settled until the final circuit as the finishing order was exactly like they started with Knopps winning and Bryan, Havel, Brett Myers, and Kent Harmon rounding out the top five.
The Value Implement Hornets saw Leslie Jackson sweep the night’s action as she sat on the pole of the feature after winning the heat. Jordan Langer was on the outside of row one, but it was Jackson who took the early lead and never looked back as she drove off into the night for the feature win. Langer and third starting Darrel Johnson battled for the runner up spot with Johnson in the high groove and Langer down low. They ran bumper to bumper and then door to door for the position as it was Langer earning the runner up spot. Johnson finished third, followed by Matthew Schaar and Jake Hallerman in fifth.
The Red Cedar Speedway will not be in action for the next month until it reopens for the 36th annual Punky Manor Challenge of Champions two night invitational sponsored by Bill’s Distributing. They will race both Friday and Saturday nights on September 25 and 26, 2015, as the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Modifieds, and Late Models, along with the Pure Stocks and Hornets will all be in action.
