Past Champions Night at PDTR
on August 10, 2015 at 11:50 amAfter the rain we had driver’s endured very heavy track that made for fast track conditions. Past champions were greeted with a dinner from PDTR and introduction to the fans at intermission.
Super Mods were first out this evening with driver introductions. Dennis Klumb and Bill Schmidt lead the Super Mods to the green flag. Dan Kruschke passed Bill Schmidt to take over second. Roger Borth battled Randy Osterman for fourth. Butchie Hafemann competed with Randy Ostermann for fifth. Bob Brion maneuvered easily through traffic as the laps dwindled down. Dennis Klumb (Adell) crossed the double checkers first with a clean sweep for the evening, followed by Johnny Fahl (Brown Deer), Keith Anderson (Sheboygan), Dan Kruschke and Bob Brion (Plymouth).
Hard charger passing 7 was Bob Brion.

Brad Lubach and Dan Sorce set the pace for the Feldmann Sales and Service Grand Nationals. Brad Lubach pulled ahead enough to lead lap one. Dan Sorce rallied back and controlled the field by lap 3, Dan Sorce and Brad Lubach touched resulting in a caution for Lubach on the front stretch. Ben Konen and Brian Gilles both left to the attention of their crews. Dan Sorce regained control of the field on the restart. Another caution waved for Tyler Kulow getting turned around on the front stretch. Brad Lubach was on a mission for the leaders after restarting in the rear of the field a few laps ago. Dan Sorce attempted with all his might to keep Roger Lee in second. Richard Hed and Donny Kulow settled into twelfth while Tim Simon and Jeff Lammers competed for seventh. Melissa Singer and Tyler Kulow settle sixteenth. Up front Mark Fieber continually held off Barry Maas for third. Matt Loehr passed Jeff Lammers for seventh. Don Sorce Jr. and Brian Cesar competed for twelfth. Donny Kulow unfortunately slowed on the outside. Roger Lee was tight behind Dan Sorce waiting for a mistake to make his move. As the leaders run close together they had a front stretch lead over third. Checkers waved for winner Dan Sorce (Franklin) followed by Roger Lee (Wind Lake), Mark Fieber (Cascade), Barry Maas (Cascade) and Tim Simon (Fond du Lac). James Pagel, Don Sorce and Tim Simon were your hard chargers each passing 7.
B-Main top six transferring to the feature were Don Sorce Jr. (West Allis), Richard Hed (Plymouth), Justin Erickson (Plymouth), Johnathon Singer (Random Lake), Michael Gilson (Elkhart Lake) and Brad Weiss (Cascade).

Aldag Honald Mechanical Sprints pushed off next with Danny Schlafer and Ken Jay Fiedler setting the pace. Danny Schlafer immediately controlled the field until our first caution for a car stalled going into the pits. Al Schlafer got tangled up on the restart and flipped into the front stretch wall. Danny Schlafer regained control of the field with Ken Jay Fiedler in second only to have another caution wave for Robbie Pribnow who spun in turn 4. Danny Schlafer now has company of Donny Goeden and Justin Miller on the restart. Shane Wenninger and Tim Haddy compete for seventh place. Leader Danny Schlafers car came to a rest in turn 4 after jumping out of gear. Donny Goeden controlled the restart with Ken Jay Fiedler in second. Tim Haddy, Brandon McMullen and Shane Wenninger were three wide on the backstretch for fifth. Red flag waved for Dannon Tessmer who tangled with Robbie Pribnow and flipped on the front stretch. Donny Goeden held off Shane Wenninger and Justin Miller for another restart. Another two cautions occurred, time limit loomed over as Donny Goeden held off Shane Wenninger who went way outside on the final restart. Yellow checkers waved for Robbie Pribnow, Doug Wondra and Randy Sippel tangling in turn 2. Donny Goeden (Kewaskum) was our winner of this thirteen lap feature and had a clean sweep followed by Shane Wenninger (Kewaskum), Justin Miller (Plymouth), Tim Haddy (Waupun) and Ken Jay Fiedler (Sheboygan Falls). Hard chargers each passing 12 cars each were Randy Walter and Jim Melis.
B-Main winner was Robbie Pribnow (Knowles) followed by Jim Melis (Glenbeulah), Tony Wondra (Campbellsport), Spyder Akright (Sheboygan Falls), Randy Walter (Cascade) and Anthony Knierim (Franksville) all transferring to the feature event.

TJ Dolhun and Jim Letizia lead the Johnsonville Sausage Late Models to the green flag. Jim Letizia jumped out to lead lap one, followed by TJ Dolhun, and Jim Schmidt. Father and son Rick and Taylor Scheffler made up the fifth row. Couple quick yellows waved for Chris Carlson, Cody Welch, Marcus Cox, Charlie Schmidt and Joel Bennett. Jim Letizia was trying to hold off Jim Schmidt through all the restarts. TJ Dolhun and Tony Peterson swap third place. Turk Letizia, Taylor and Rick Scheffler run side by side for sixth. Brad Mueller pulled into the infield with rear axle issues. Jim Schmidt and TJ Dolhun battled for second resulting in TJ Dolhun being sent through the infield. Rick Scheffler passed Turk Letizia for sixth. At the half-way point Jim Schmidt touched Jim Letizia to take over the lead. Rick Scheffler passed Tony Peterson for third, as Taylor Scheffler passed Turk Letizia for fifth. Jim Schimdt ran up on lapped traffic of Ted Dolhun Sr. As the checkers flew it was Jim Schmidt (Cleveland) over Rick Scheffler (Waukesha), followed by Jim Letizia (Milwaukee), Tony Peterson (Big Bend) and Taylor Scheffler (Waukesha). Rick Scheffler was hard charger passing 7 cars.

Cellcom Outlaw Compacts were last this evening with Jon Hitsman and Donnie Welch setting the pace. Brody Rivest managed to pass all cars between turn four and green flag. Chris Maas wasted no time trailing Rivest. Donnie Welch, Scott Schlafke and Ben Meyerhofer battled fifth place. Brody Rivest had a ½ track lead over Chris Maas by lap 10. When the checker flew it was Brody Rivest (Sheboygan) winning with a new track record of 4 minutes and 22 seconds and a clean sweep for the evening. Second went to Chris Maas (Oakfield) followed by Lonnie Schlafke (Sheboygan), Donnie Welch (Saukville) and Scott Schlafke (Cleveland).
Hard charger passing 6 was Brody Rivest.
