A triumphant return to action for Gilles, along with wins by Hansen, Meyerhofer, Doug Wondra & Buhler with a late race pass for the win @ Manitowoc Speedway
Friday, July 17th Manitowoc WI. – Super side by side racing in all divisions on another fast, multi groove track provided thrills for those in attendance on Affordable Auto Rentals Night at the Races.
DEFAUT AUTO/NAPA AUTO CARE THUNDER TRUCKS
A spirited battle between Hansen and Rothmund highlighted the Defaut Auto/Napa Auto Care Thunder Truck Feature, with Hansen taking home the hardware.

SPORT FOURS
An early caution causing a complete re-rack of the feature thinned the field as Steve VanOudenhoven & the Cody Reed (Green Bay) sustained heavy damage and were forced to retire. Mike Meier (Chilton) and Ben Meyerhofer (Menasha) put on a side by side racing clinic until Meyerhofer finally wrestled away the top spot and cruised to a victory.

PROFESSIONAL PLATING INC. GRAND NATIONALS
Cedar Grove’s Jonathon Otte bounced into the early lead during the Professional Plating Inc Grand National Feature, but a caution caused by a fracas in Turn 4 involving Kevin Naidl (Reedsville), Kevin Lubach (Elkhart Lake) and Tim Simon (Fond du Lac) slowed the event. All rejoined the event, while Brian Gilles (Plymouth) slid into the lead after the restart and Charlie Sancinatti (West Allis) moved into 2nd. Sancinati continued to battle Ryan Minster (Sheboygan) for the runner-up spot for the remainder of the event. Gilles continued to stretch his lead on the way to the win, while Sancinati held off Minster for second. Sancinati picked up Hard Charger honors picking up 10 spots.

PROFESSIONAL PLATING INC. SPORT MODIFIEDS
Larry Zirbel (Iron Ridge) dominated the majority of the Professional Plating Inc. Sport Modified Feature, seemingly leaving Cody Schroeder (Manitowoc), Hunter Parsons (Green Bay), and Travis Arenz (Sheboygan) to battle it out for 2nd. Only a couple of cautions for spins by Justin Bauer & Gary Glander, both of Sheboygan Falls slowed the event, while Zirbel held on to the lead. Arenz moved in on Zirbel with few laps remaining and challenged hard, finally taking the lead on the last lap and holding on for the win. Arenz picked up 7 positions on the way to the win.

BAILEIGH INDUSTRIAL LATE MODELS
Joel Bennett of Hortonville quickly slipped into the lead of the Baileigh Industrial Late Model feature, while Tim Buhler (Glenbeulah) motored up from mid pack and Mitch McGrath (Waukesha) shot through the field from the rear. Halfway through Bennett and Buhler were putting on a show as McGrath tried to reel them in. Buhler made his move around Bennett, who lost second to McGrath. With no cautions to bring the field back together, Buhler held on for the win as McGrath ran out of laps. McGrath took home the Hard Charger award, picking up 8 spots.

PROFESSIONAL PLATING INC 360 SPRINT CARS
Frankville’s Anthony Knierim shot from the pole position to the lead and immediately began to stretch the field, as Doug Wondra (Oakfield) and John Krebsbach (Cascade) tried to chase him down. Brandon McMullen (Plymouth) forced his way into contention with a slick pass on Krebsbach and set his sights on Wondra as Knierim brought out a caution spinning out of the lead. Wondra assumed the lead on the restart, and fended off all challengers to race away to the win holding off McMullen and Hard Charger Kurt Davis (West Allis) who picked off 8 positions on his way to 3rd.
