Long Collects $1,210 for White Race Win at 141 Speedway

(Francis Creek, WI)- Josh Long took home the honors in the IMCA Modified 20 lap main event at 141 Speedway. The win earned him a $1,210 pay day. $1000 for the win and $210 for leading all 21 laps.

Josh Long started on the outside pole of the IMCA Modified Feature and quickly showed everyone why he might be the toughest car to beat when the track slicks over. Long rode the top of the track all the way around with Eric Scribner running second and trying to stay within striking distance. Shawn Kilgore made his way to third and used different lanes to move around Scribner. A caution with five laps remaining allowed Scribner and Kilgore one last chance at Long. Long controlled the final laps in securing the win. Kilgore made his way around Scribner for second on the restart and finished in the runner up spot. Scribner ran third in front of Eric Mahlik and R.M. VanPay. Kilgore holds a 7 point edge on Mahlik going into the Red race on August 8th.

Rookie driver Joe Brenner led his first IMCA Stockcar Feature event if only for a lap. Jeremy Jauquet ran to the lead on lap two and led until a caution on lap seven would halt the race. Kyle Frederick used the restart to jump up top and into the lead bringing along John Heinz and Devin Snellenberger. Heinz would get second place on lap 12 and then grab the lead on lap 14. Snellenberger got to second and kept Heinz within striking distance late. Heinz stayed true to the front and picked up his fourth win of the season and extended his point lead. Snellenberger ran to second in front of Frederick. Brett Wenzel crossed the line in fourth with Bret Koehler fifth.

Scott Howe led the opening lap of the IMCA Sportmod Extravaganza until Race VanPay took control on lap two. A lone caution on lap three let everyone take a quick breather. VanPay quickly came under attack from Cody Schroeder on the restart. Schroeder took his time in working his way around the leader. Schroeder cruised once he got passed VanPay on lap seven. At the halfway point of the race Schroeder had a near straightaway lead. Travis Arenz and company would make their way passed VanPay but it was a little too late. Schroeder picked up his second win of the season. Arenz won second place points and money. Kelsy Hayes finished third and VanPay fourth. Joshua Lambert rounded out the top five.

Kraig Koehler wrestled the lead away from Allen Dillon on the second lap of the Street Stock Feature. This proved to be the race winning move or so the leader thought. Koehler would lead through a lap eight caution allowing Eddie Anschutz and Mike Conard to draw near. Conard won the battle for second with four laps remaining and set his sights on Koehler. Koehler would have to deal with lapped traffic which caused to be fatal to his hopes of winning. Coming to the white flag a lapped car was in the line of Koehler. Conard saw this and moved lower than both the lapped car and Koehler. Koehler and Conard cleared the lapped car with Conard getting better bite coming to the white flag. Conard led the final two laps and picked up the win over Anschutz. Koehler faltered in the final laps to finish third. Paul Diefenthaler drove to fourth with Ray Fuller finishing fifth.

Glen Blanke rode around for the first two laps as the Grand Marshall of the Grand National Feature. Blanke would spin on lap three and bring out the caution. Rex Karner would inherit the lead with Dan Schumacher running right behind. Schumacher would make the race winning move down low on lap six. Schumacher would lead to the checkers in front of Aaron Stolp and Charlie Sancinati. Kodi Wirtz finished fourth making co-points leaders between himself and Sancinati. Terry Van Roy rounded out the top five. The feature win for Schumacher was his first win at the speedway of any kind in 2015.

Brandon Kaye drove the top of the 1/3 mile clay oval to victory in the IMCA Sport Compact Feature. Kaye grabbed the lead up top from race leader Shaun Bangart on lap 11. The win was his third of the season. Roger Braun tested Kaye late but finished just short of the win. Bangart finished third with Adam Broehm and Scott Johnson finishing in the top five.
