Czarapata Controls Cheesehead Invitational at Luxemburg Speedway
(Luxemburg, WI)- Cousins Jason Czarapata and Brandon Czarapata have won on the same night before. With a payday of a combined $5,750 they might not have any sweeter of a night together.
130 cars were on hand for the extra class in all divisions: IMCA Modifieds(58 cars) IMCA Stockcars(23 cars) IMCA Sportmods(29 cars) Street Stocks(20 cars)
In the new age of the crate motor, Jason Czarapata had his open motor hooked up on a glazed over track. Czarapata captured the 35 lap, $5,000 IMCA Modified race in dominating fashion.
Brandon Czarapata had to work way through the field to capture his $750 payday in the IMCA Stockcars.
Kelsy Hayes has stayed perfect in the Cheesehead Triple Crown so far. She is a perfect three for three in IMCA Sportmod Feature wins.
Shawn Haydon made his return to Luxemburg Speedway a successful one as he picked up $500 with his Street Stock win.
Jason Czarapata earned his pole position for the IMCA Modified Feature by winning a six car, eight lap dash earlier in the evening. Front row starter and former National Champion Jordan Grabouski was slated to start on the front row also but mechanical woes forced his night to be done. Mike Mullen moved along side Czarapata at the drop of the green flag that saw the pole sitter grab the top spot. Mullen would quickly fall in line behind Czarapata until a lap six caution slowed the pace. Czarapata gradually pulled away over the remainder of the race and dealt with lapped traffic late to take the $5,000 win. Mullen searched around the track in the race but had to contend with Tim Czarneski for the second spot. The duo would put on a clinic in side by side racing with Czarneski able to grab second occasionally at the line. Mullen was able to take command of second late and finish ahead of Czarneski. Josh Long ran to a fourth place finish after starting in 11th. Kyle Strickler started in the 13th starting position and found his line late in the race to finish fifth.
Shawn Havel put his Wolfe racecar up front quickly in the 25 lap IMCA Stockcar Showdown. Havel jumped out front with Dustin Loberger quickly trying to get inside of him. Loberger tried for a few laps would go high and allow Rod Snellenberger and Brandon Czarapata to pass down low. Havel would lead by only a couple of car lengths as Czarapata waited for any sort of mistake from Snellenberger. Czarapata waited 12 laps for that to happen. Czarapata moved down low and grabbed second just as the only caution of the race would fly on lap 20. Havel got a good restart but Czarapata got a better one. Havel ran the middle of the track and allowed Czarapata the bottom to himself. Czarapata grabbed the lead on the first lap of the restart and never looked back picking up the $750 for the win. Havel finished second with Dustin Loberger coming home third. Dave Bouche charged to fourth late. Snellenberger fell back to fifth late in the race.
22 IMCA Sportmods were on the right pedal at the drop of the green flag in the feature event. 21 men and only 1 woman. That woman would be the victor after a hard fought late race pass. Dennis Miesler set the pace for the entire feature event out front. The only snag in the race was a caution on lap six. Miesler kept Ryan Lemieux behind him but within striking distance. Kelsy Hayes made her move through the middle of the race track along with Josh Lambert. Hayes worked the bottom with Lambert up on top as they clicked passed the cars. Hayes would be faster and set her sights on the top two. Hayes moved around Lemieux with three laps remaining using on the outside. She moved along side Miesler for the lead and went right around with two laps remaining. She saw the white flag first for the third straight night. She picked up the win for the third straight time this week. Her weekly winnings after three nights is $1,950. Miesler came home with second place pay in front of a hard charging Todd Wiese. Lambert finished fourth in front of Scott Boyea.
Scott Riedner led his first ever Street Stock Feature lap at Luxemburg Speedway but would give way to race winner Shawn Haydon quickly on lap two. Haydon hustled his way from sixth to the lead on lap two. He led through a couple mid race cautions that kept all the drivers bonding closely. Haydon would pull away from the field until Eddie Anschutz would soar to catch the leader. Anschutz grabbed second on lap 11 and tracked down Haydon with five laps remaining. Anschutz was able to get inside Haydon but never able to make the pass. Many times the fender or bumper could have been used but the race was run clean. Haydon held off Anschutz for the $500 win. Gary Kasperek finished third followed by Riedner and Ryan Blank.
