Friday, June 5th, Manitowoc – First time winners @ Manitowoc Speedway, and intense racing action made for a great early summer evening on the Lakeshore.

PROFESSIONAL PLATING INC GRAND NATIONALS
Brad Juckem (Chilton) had a straight forward race in the Professional Plating Inc Grand National feature. Starting in the pole position, he lead the entire race, maintaining his dominance even through 2 restarts. An intense battle for second followed suit between Kevin Lubach (Elkhart Lake) and Ryan Minster (Sheboygan). Kevin Lubach took the second place position with Brian Gilles (Plymoth) and Matt Jackson (Sheboygan) working their way past Minster, taking the third and fourth places respectively, and relegating Minster to fifth. Charlie Sancinatti (West Allis) charged forward through the event, starting 14th and finishing 6th after a strong run, earning another Hard Charger Award.

BAILEIGH INDUSTRIAL LATE MODELS
The Baileigh Industrial Late Model feature started out with an intense battle between father and son, as Taylor Scheffler (Waukesha) and Rick Scheffler (Waukesha) fought for the 1st position. Yellow flags on the 4th and 8th lap forced Rick Scheffler back to 4th though he was able to fight his way back and finish in 2nd. Tony Peterson (Big Bend), Justin Hirt (Tigerton) and Tim Buhler (Glenbeulah) battled hard for 3rd, with Peterson finally grabbing the spot.

PROFESSIONAL PLATING INC SPORT MODS
After a medical emergency in the stands halted racing for 30 minutes, fans were treated to a fierce display of racing in the Professional Plating Inc Sport Mod Feature. Robby Thiel (Menasha) held the lead for the first 10 laps until he was overtaken by Chad Vetting (Valders). As the race went on Wyatt Block (Tigerton) furiously worked his way from the 9th position, finally taking the lead during the 17th lap and winning his first feature race. Vetting finished 2nd, after dueling with Brandon Riedner (Waunakee) throughout the last 5 laps. With 2 cautions slowing the event, keeping the cars bunched together, the fans were treated to some intense side by side racing and daring passes. Block and Travis Arenz (Sheboygan) put their work in earning Hard Charger honors, both passing 8 cars, and Arenz picking up a 4th place finish.

PROFESSIONAL PLATING INC 360 SPRINT CARS
Once Justin Miller (Plymoth) took the lead in the 360 Sprint Feature, he never looked back. Steering clear of a car flipping over in Turn 4 in lap 8, and jumping out to another sizable lead on the restart. A spin by Anthony Knierim (Frankville) on lap 24 ended the race as the leaders had already received the white flag, by rule making it a complete race. Moving up 2 spots was Wayne Modjeski (Oak Creek), finishing 2nd after starting in the 4th spot. Making massive strides through the pack were Scott Conger (Eagle, finishing 9th after starting in the 16th spot earning the Hard Charger Award and Mitchell Yurmanovich (Cascade) finishing 8th after starting in the 14th spot.

SPORT 4’S
The 4-cylinder division had a straight forward feature running green to checkers during Friday’s race. Mike Meier (Chilton) started out in the pole position and lead for most of the race, until Ben Meyerhofer (Menasha) battled his way from the back of the pack and took the lead during lap 8. Behind them, Mike Zitzer (Sheboygan) and Steve VanOudenhoven (Two Rivers) fought for the third place spot. VanOudenhoven slipped by Zitzer during the third lap, and despite a valiant effort, VanOudenhoven took the third place position, and Zitzer took fourth.

DEFAUT AUTO/NAPA AUTO CARE THUNDER TRUCKS
The Thunder Trucks division had only two drivers in tonights race, with John Rothmund (Manitowoc) starting second and Craig Gessner (Kewaskum) in the pole position. John Rothmund took an early lead and never looked back as he took an easy victory Friday night.
