SEYMOUR READY TO GO SUNDAY MAY 31
on May 30, 2015 at 11:58 amSeymour, May 30- Despite the recent rainy weather, N.E.W. DIRT is planning to run their weekly racing program at the Seymour Speedway, Tomorrow, Sunday May 31.
The forecast is favorable for later today and especially Sunday for racing to return to the 1/3 mile banked clay oval.
The weather has not been kind on Sundays, with the last three weeks lost to Mother Nature. But, is looks like sunshine for Sunday.
Trackside BP of Seymour is the title sponsor for the nights activities.
The five regular divisions are looking to run their second race of the season. Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars, O’Reilly Auto Part IMCA Sport Mods, Turbo Blue Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders will run a full program Sunday and will be joined by the Spectator Eliminators as the added division.
Pit opens at 3:30
Grandstand at 4
Racing at 5:30 PM.
The running order will be:
Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars
O’Reilly Auto Parts IMCA Sport Mods
Turbs Blue Street Stocks
Budweiser IMCA Modifieds
4 Cylinders
Spectator Eliminators
The track is currently working to get nightly sponsors rescheduled.
Also looking to reschedule the WDLMA Super 7 series race rained out last week. Should have that announcement soon.
The club would also like to emphasize that, despite rumors, the Seymour Speedway is NOT closing.
The number one issue this season has been the weather. Losing the last three weeks and having cold wet weather the month of April, has been a challenge, to say the least.
However, the club has run races EVERY SUNDAY NIGHT at the Seymour Speedway for 32 years, and WILL continue to do so.
The club, being a drivers organization, continues to look to advance their programs. Drivers payoff was raised last year and is close to, if not the best in the area. The track consistently has three, four and even five wide racing so the competition is always strong.
With all local tracks rained out so far this weekend, and the weather looking to be nice for tomorrow. Plan on a BIG night of racing THIS Sunday, May 31, at the Seymour Speedway.
