Ashland, WI, May 30 — Despite a favorable forecast, the recent wet weather and uncooperative track conditions forced officials at the ABC Raceway to again cancel their efforts to kick off the 2015 stock car racing season this past Saturday night.
The program, to have been jointly presented by the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce and the Northern State Bank and to have offered all active and veteran military personnel free admission, will now be rescheduled for later in the season.

The Raceway will again try to open up the season on Saturday, June 6, with its full program featuring WISSOTA-sanctioned Modifieds, Super Stocks and Midwest Modifieds, as well as the track’s own Six-Cylinders and Pure Stocks, in heat and feature action.
Hot laps will begin at 6:15 pm, and the first green flag of the season is scheduled to be thrown at 7. Adult tickets are just $10 each, and kids ages 12 and under admitted free with a paid adult admission. “Z-93 Race Night” will air Saturday on WBSZ, 93.3 FM, from 4:30-6 pm with up-to-date track news and weather information.
The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road. For raceday information call (715) 682-4990, or log on to the track’s website, www.abcraceway.com.
