PROFESSIONAL PLATING INC. GRAND NATIONALS
Chiltons Brad Juckem bolted to the lead of the Professional Plating Inc. Grand National Feature. Kevin Lubach (Elkhart Lake) and Plymouth’s Brian Gilles settled into a door to door battle behind him. Rim-riding on the extreme top, Juckem stretched out the lead until slowed by caution at Lap 5 when Campbellsport’s Justin Brown spun out in Turn 2. The black and green machine of Juckem leaped back to the high side on the restart, while Kevin Naidl (Cato) and Steven Weber (Plymouth) rolled in to challenge Lubach. Rolling through the mid point of the race, Juckem maintained a 3 length lead, while West Allis Charlie Sancinatti challenged Weber for a top 5 spot. A pair of cautions in the latter half the race kept the field tightly bunched. Gilles pushed forward, running door to door with Juckem, while Sancinatti jumped into third, looking for a mistake out of the leaders. Gilles got a huge drive off the bottom with 2 to go and forced the black machine into the lead for good. Juckem held off Sancinatti for the runner up spot, with Lubach and Naidl rounding out the top 5. Gilles picked up 8 spots during the event, while Sancinatti passed 7.
