(Francis Creek, WI)- Last corner finishes are always a blast for the fans and for the winning side of finish. Tonight’s IMCA Modified Finale saw Johnny Whitman edge out Shawn Kilgore by a bumper. The win was the defending champions first win of the season.

Larry Karcz Jr got back to winning in his second week back in the IMCA Stockcars after an off season accident.

Kelsy Hayes fended off the boys in winning the IMCA Sportmod Feature event in which she led every lap. It was her first career 141 Feature win.

Kevin Naidl got back into his winning ways in the Grand National Feature after being winless on the season.

Scott Boulanger fended off challenges from two past champions in securing the Street Stock Feature.

A Fog shortened IMCA Sport Compact Feature saw Brian Johnson pick up his first win of the season.

Mike Mashl was a rocket at the start of the IMCA Modified Feature that saw plenty of racing grooves from top to bottom. Mashl stayed in control through a couple of cautions mid race. Shawn Kilgore and Johnny Whitman moved forward using various lanes and found themselves in the top three with a few laps remaining. Mashl would run the top in front of Kilgore but a lapped car in Mashl’s lane would allow Kilgore to dive down in front of the leader and clear him off of turn two. He would bring Johnny Whitman along for the ride with the duo nose to tail. Whitman would try to move around Kilgore for a few laps until the white flag finally flew. A lapped car on top forced Kilgore to dive low and contact with Whitman would ensue. They would drag race for the final lap with Kilgore up top and Whitman down low. Off of turn four, Whitman would find just enough with a photo finish by a bumper being the decider. Kilgore finished second, ending his two race win streak. Mashl finished third with Jay Matthias running fourth. Tim Czarneski drove to a fifth.

An accident in the off season sidelined former track champion Larry Karcz. He came to play last week and started up front in his second week back. Karcz was dominant over the field from the drop of the IMCA Stockcar green flag. Karcz worked in front of the field closely through the two mid race cautions. Brett Wenzel and Bret Koehler found their ways to second and third behind Karcz. Karcz would fend them off early and pull away late in taking home the win. Wenzel beat Koehler back to the line for second. Devin Snellenberger made a late race pass on John Heinz to gain fourth. The Karcz family will remember this win as it was Larry’s first win being back in the car and son Aaron made his first feature start at 141.

One Lady and 21 Men started the IMCA Sportmod Feature. After 20 laps it was One lady with a trophy and 21 men with nothing. Kelsy Hayes graduated college last week and this week took home the top prize in the field. Hayes had her hands full throughout the race as she was always taking on new challengers. First Josh Lambert and Hunter Parsons tried to claw the lead away. She kept them behind and late was a battle with Kevin Bethke. Bethke would try multiple lines to get around the leader but could never make the pass in the runner-up finish. Hayes earned her first career 141 Speedway Feature win in front of Bethke, point leader Greg Potts, J.J. Anderson and Ryan Besaw.

Seth Hoeffner opened up as the leader of the pack in the Grand National Feature. Hoeffner quickly came under fire from two-time defending champion Kevin Naidl. Naidl would bide his time down low until Hoeffner opened up the door on lap ten. Naidl cruised passed and checked out from the field in picking up the win. The caution free race saw Wirtz get passed Justin Green for the runner-up spot. Point leader, Charlie Sancinati finished fourth ahead of Shawn Schmitt.

A caution filled race early in the Street Stock Feature kept everyone close. Allen Dillon led early until Kraig Koehler came from 10th to the lead in three laps. Koehler held the lead while Scott Boulanger worked into second. Boulanger tracked down the 2012 champion and grabbed control of the lead on lap seven. Boulanger would hold the lead through more cautions with the final one being on lap 14. Koehler pressured Boulanger on the restart but mechanical woes forced him to the infield. Boulanger cruised for the final laps in picking up his second win of the season. Paul Diefenthaler made a late race charge and finished second ahead of Eric Turner. Mike Conard came back to finish fourth after restarting 22nd on lap seven. Josh MacDonald finished fifth.

Brian Johnson won a Fog shortened IMCA Sport Compact Feature event. He wrestled the lead away from Neil Watzka two laps before the race ending caution flag. Matt Brehmer finished third ahead of Scott Johnson and Ryan Georgia.
