TNT Motor Speedway Re-Opens Saturday!
Stock car racing will return to the high banked oval at TNT Motor Speedway this Saturday Night. The Three Lakes (WI) Track had been closed for the last 2 years. The track is under new management, James Koga and Jamie Pooch.
This past Saturday the track held a car show and practice. Races from throughout the area brought their cars for the fans to see up close. Then the races had a chance to practice on the high banked one-third mile clay track. This spring TNT Motor Speedway brought in additional new clay for the surface. Track and facility improvements have been going on for the last two months.
“Over a hundred hours have been put in since February. When all you see is snow, it’s hard to be thinking about our My 16th season opener,” chuckled Jamie Pooch. The season opener will be the Robert “Fireballs” Schroder Memorial Race. H2O Under Pressure and Safe Excavating H2O will sponsor a TNT Pro Truck Trophy Dash for the season opener.
Koga who raced in the Truck Division at different tracks will now be focused on all the classes that TNT will have this year. This includes the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, WISSOTA Street Stock, TNT Pure Stock, Micro Sprint 600’s, Junior Sprints, TNT Stingers, and the TNT Pro Truck classes.
“The high banked one-third mile clay track has always had great racing in the Mid Mods, Streeters, Pure Stockers, and Stingers. It was one of the first tracks in the northwoods to have the Trucks racing, and now we’re adding the very fast Micro Sprints and the fun to watch Junior Sprinters. It is going to be exciting for both the races and the fans to see racing return to TNT,” commented Koga.
The tracks presenting sponsor will be NAPA of Rhinelander and Minocqua. TNT Motor Speedway has a full concession and souvenir stand, and throughout the year offer the fans the chance to win prizes, along with having special nights where the fans will be able to get up close to the cars for pictures and autographs.
“We are going to focus on both the racers AND the fans throughout the year,” concluded Pooch.
Hot laps will start at 6:30 pm CT, with racing to start at 7:15 CT. TNT Motor Speedway is located 6 miles South of Three Lakes on US 45.
