ABC Raceway to Host FastLane Car Show to Open ‘15 Campaign
Ashland, WI — The ABC Raceway will kick off its 2015 stock car racing season with its annual Car Show and Swap Meet at FastLane Motorsports & Custom Powdercoating in Ashland on Saturday, May 9.
The event will be a great opportunity for local racing fans to get an advance “sneak-peek” at a sample handful of the stock cars that will soon be speeding around the nearby three-eighths-mile red-clay oval just south of town.
Along with the display of racing equipment, area car enthusiasts are invited to participate by showing off their custom cars, hot rods and classic cars in the parking area directly in front of FastLane’s headquarters, on US Highway 2 on Ashland’s East Side.
Racers will have the opportunity to take care of licensing, pit-spot reservations, and other pre-season “administrative” tasks during the car show, and fans can visit with drivers, fellow fans and ABC Raceway staff during the festivities.
In addition, the Northland’s only pre-race radio program, “Race Night,” will air from 10 am-noon live from FastLane Motorsports on WBSZ, 93.3 FM, and online at www.wbszfm.com.
The ABC Raceway has also set Thursday, May 14, aside for a “test-and-tune” session at the track, from 5-8 pm. There will be a pit-entry fee for racers, but the general public is welcome to watch for free from the grandstands. An alternate date of Tuesday, May 19, will be used in the event of inclement weather or unfavorable track conditions on the 14th.
The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road. For more information call (715) 682-4990, or log on to the track’s website, www.abcraceway.com.
