on April 26, 2015 at 10:16 am(Francis Creek,WI)- R.M. VanPay showed that he is still one of the top hands in the poker division that is the IMCA Modified division after all his years in competition. VanPay bested a star studded 33 car field.

161 literally packed the pits in six divisions Saturday night. The five top divisions all ran last chance races. The smallest division was the IMCA Sport Compact division with 20 cars.
“Big Money” Jay Matthias was putting the lap money in his pocket early in the IMCA Modified Feature. Matthias worked the birm smoothly with R.M. Van Pay settling into second. Van Pay would fall in line and occasionally take a peak underneath. Van Pay made his move halfway through the event. Van Pay shot down low heading into turn one. At the same time Van Pay went low Matthias had a right rear tire go down. Van Pay cleared Matthias and then set sail on the top of the track. Van Pay picked up the caution free feature event win. Kyle Kudick won a late race duel with Tim Czarneski for the runner-up spot. Jeremy Jacobs finished fourth with Randy Markwardt fifth.
Rob Waechter went from third to first on the opening lap of the IMCA Stockcar Feature. Barry Van Straten snatched the lead on lap two. Barry Van Straten would keep the field near and dear with everyone jockeying for position. A four-wide battle for the lead would occur with Waechter grabbing the lead one last time for a lap. John Heinz and Van Straten stayed with the leader in a three wide battle into the next lap. Heinz would clear the others and start pulling the field. Heinz would lead all the way until a lap 17 caution. Heinz would have to contend with Troy Muench on the restart. Muench faltered up top and Heinz picked up his second straight win of the season. Bret Koehler started 14th and charged to second. Brett Wenzel and Shawn Havel finished in front of Travis Van Straten in the top five.
He has the name “Rocket” for a reason. Ryan Lemieux used the nickname to lead the field for 19 of the 20 laps of the IMCA Sportmod Feature. Lemieux dominated the first ¾ of the race with Kevin Bethke and J.J. Anderson finally closing in with five laps remaining. Bethke would use lapped traffic to track down the leader. They entered a lapped racer coming to the white flag and Bethke shot underneath Lemieux in turn one. Lemieux and Bethke drag raced down the backstretch and through the final two corners were wheel to wheel. Lemieux bested Bethke by mere feet in a fast n furious style finish. Anderson finished third. Greg Potts finished fourth with Tracy Wassenberg making a visit and finishing fifth.
Corey Feustel was rocking and rolling early in the Brian Peterson Builder’s Grand National Feature. Feustel would lead until the only caution flew on lap eight. On the restart, Charlie Sancinati used a three wide move for the second spot and set his sights on the leader. Sancinati kept his car on the bottom and moved around Feustel on lap 11. Sancinati would stretch out his lead late in earning his first win of the season. Kodi Wirtz finished second after charging from 16th after his B Main win. Aaron Stolp started 15th and finished third. Justin Green and Shawn Schmitt rounded out the top five.
The Krajinek Chevrolet Street Stock Feature presented by Quietwoods RV Sales and Service started off with Mike Nehmer starting up front but spinning in front of the field collecting lots of cars. Five cars would be done for the evening. Eric Turner shot out and into the lead on the second start of the race with Shawn Haydon in tow. Haydon moved into the top spot on lap three. Kraig Koehler would move behind Haydon after a lap nine caution. Koehler would wait for Haydon to slip out of turn two and grab the lead on lap 11. Koehler would stay strong in the lead and pick up the win. The last three champions in the division finished first, second and third. Haydon finished second with Paul Diefenthaler coming home third. Turner finished fourth in his rookie year on the dirt. Josh McDonald finished fifth.
Mike Meier ran up front for the first half of the IMCA Sport Compact Feature. Matt Brehmer and Shaun Bangart ran him down and then put on a battle for the ages over the last half of the race. Brehmer would win the race late but be disqualified for lead in the frame. Bangart would be handed the win in front of Mike Montie, Scott Johnson and Ralph Liegeois.
