2014 Championship recap:
In the highly contested Rouer’s Grand Slam IMCA Stock Car division it was Dave “The Bulldozer” Bouche winning his 3rd straight title in a row. Shawn Havel came up just 3 points short of Bouche. Charlie Kroll stayed in the hunt all season and finished 3rd in the standings only 12 back.
The Stock Car division will gain a former IMCA National Champion with the addition of “Hot Rod” Snellenberger. Rod is fresh off his 200th feature win. Snellenberger won the Hill title in 98’. He also won the championship last year at 141 Speedway and Seymour Speedway. His last feature win at the Hill came in 2013 during the Badger Stock Car Tour. Snellenberger then went on to win the BST title. Add in Bouche, Havel, Kroll, Dylan Heilmann, Jamie Suchocki, Billy LeMieux, Tom Brumlic and many more. This class will be worth the price of admission.
Last season saw “Felix” Todd Dart capture an unprecedented 8th Kelsey Racing IMCA Modified title. Dart bested two time champ James Lee Tebon by 14 points.
A new champion was crowned in the LaVine’s Ice IMCA Sport Mods as Chris Budzban earned his first ever track title. “Budzo” was pursued all season long by “Rocket” Ryan LeMieux who finished second by 6 points.
Jeremy Jauquet etched his name in the Thunderhill record books with his first track championship in the IMCA Hobby Stocks. Jauquet bested Derek Moede by 4 points. Moede has moved up to the IMCA Stock Cars. Jauquet is without a ride this year, so the division will likely see a new champ.
Geno Sternard became a two time champ in the Reese’s Auto Body Street Stocks. Sternard beat Kevin Luedtke by a mere 3 points. Luedtke is another driver making the jump to the IMCA Stock Cars. Former champ Phil Faustini will make his return to the division.
Grandstand prices will stay the same. Adults $10, Seniors / Students $7, Kids (6-12) $3. Children 5 and under are free. The pit gate will remain the same as well. $20 with membership and $25 without a membership. Each class will host a solid base of new and old faces along with a new division. There are several rookies looking to make their mark in the sport. Come see who throws their hat in the ring for the title and chases the $40,500 in contingencies.
