Seymour, April 19 – The Seymour Speedway kicked off their 32nd season on a smooth fast 1/3 mile banked clay oval Sunday night.

Prior to the start of the night, N.E.W. DIRT presented Rod Snellenberger with a plaque commemorating his 200th career IMCA Stock Car feature victory the week before.

The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds took to the track first with Mike Mullen drawing the outside pole and beat pole sitter Jerry Wilinski to the lead at the start. Mullen pulled away from the field until a lap 9 caution bunched the field with Wilinski still holding the runner up spot over Eric Scribner, Tyler Hackett, Chad Bartel and Marcus Yarie. Mullen again pulled away on the restart with Scribner taking the second spot followed by Wilinski, Bartel, Brad Lautenbach and Jamie Schmidt.

A final caution on lap 16 set up a 4 lap dash. Mullen was still in control and led the way to the finish with Lautenbach taking the runner finish. Yarie took third with Bartel, Schmidt and T.J., Smith.

The Coor’s Light IMCA Stock Cars were up next with Mike Schmidt grabbing the lead at the start followed by Travis Van Straten, Vern Stedjee, Rod Snellenberger and Chas Van Ooyen.
