Duffy Wins Red, White and Blue Series at 141 Speedway

(Francis Creek, WI)- Darin Duffy has traveled from Urbana, IA to 141 Speedway and back four times in 2014. 40 hours of driving time has paid off as Darin Duffy has captured the Red, White and Blue series in the IMCA Modifieds at the speedway.

Duffy won Saturday night and picked up his second $1,000 payday as he also won the White race on July 5th. He finished second in the opening Red race and was one win away from scoring the clean sweep in the series. He wins the coveted crate motor courtesy of Gandrud Chevrolet.

Other winners included Dustin Loberger(IMCA Stockcars) Brandon Long(IMCA Sportmods) Shawn Haydon(Street Stocks) Dan Schumacher(Grand Nationals) and Matt Brehmer(4 Cylinders.)

Tim Czarneski started the IMCA Modified Feature up front and in charge of the field. Czarneski led early in a feature that saw five cautions and most early. Russ Reinwald snuck in to the lead for a but Czarneski came flying back up top. Czarneski led through a few more cautions with Johnny Whitman hot on his heals. On a lap eleven restart, Whitman got a good jump coming off of turn two and Czarneski tried to sneak through up high and slammed hard into the wall ending his night. The final restart took place on lap twelve with Darin Duffy in second. Whitman took control on the restart but Duffy started searching for his line. Duffy stayed patient and finally found his line right up top. Duffy cruised into the lead on lap fifteen and led the final six laps to win his second straight race in the series. Whitman finished second but increased his season championship lead over Josh Long by one point. Shawn Kilgore started sixteenth in the
feature and
rose to finish fourth in the race and second in the series standings. R.M. Van Pay finished fifth in the race.

Josh Mroczkowski started on the outside pole and rode up top to a commanding lead in the IMCA Stockcar Feature. Dustin Loberger made his way to second and had to reel in the leader by nearly ¾ of a straightaway. Loberger tried many lines and eventually caught the leader on lap twelve. Mroczkowski started into lapped traffic but Loberger was too quick down low. Loberger made the pass and led the final eight laps to pick up his fourth feature win of the season, matching his car number. Mroczkowski finished in a season best second beating Troy Muench in a late race battle. Luke Lemmens finished fourth with Larry Karcz fifth.

Phil Mott opened up as the leading actor of the Hollywood movie called the IMCA Sportmod Main Event. Mott led until Race Van Pay and Bill Edler passed him with a three-wide move on the second lap. A caution would fly on lap three when Mott spun in front of the field. When the race restarted Van Pay jumped away from the field with everyone battling for second. A couple of cautions brought the field to the back bumper of the leader with six laps remaining. Brian Bruechert used this to his advantage and fought underneath Van Pay and into the lead with five laps remaining. Van Pay tried coming back at Bruechert but got into the back end of the leader and caused a multi-car incident behind. A final restart set up a shootout with the top two in the points race. Brandon Long rode the rail up top and came to the outside of Bruechert immediately. Long was able to grab the lead with the white flag in the air. Long held off Bruechert on the
final lap to
win his second feature of the season. He picked up one point in the standings as Bruechert finished second. Cody Schroeder finished third as he ran up front all race long. Mike Dauphinais ran to a solid fourth with Greg Potts rounding out the top five.

2012 Street Stock Champ Kraig Koehler rode in front of Jerry Winkler in the beginning of the Street Stock Feature. Winkler got a great restart after a lap four caution and grabbed the lead entering turn one. Point leader Shawn Haydon came through the field quickly and ran to second. Haydon got to the back bumper of Winkler and on lap fifteen made the winning move down low. Haydon checked out for his third win of the season but more importantly a great point night. Winkler settled for second. Andy Fuhrmann won the late race battle for third over Paul Diefenthaler. Mike Conard ran to fifth.

Alex Stumpf tried to repeat what Ben Stumpf did last week in the Grand National division. Ben won the Feature event and now Alex found himself in the front of the field. Scott Stewart and Dan Schumacher hooked up early for a battle for second. A caution halfway through the race allowed Schumacher and Stewart a chance to dance. Schumacher was up for the occasion and glided up in front of Schumacher to grab the lead on lap eleven. Schumacher cruised to his first win of the season. Tim Doehling came around to finish second in front of Stewart. Chad Ninmer finished fourth with Tim Reichenberger fifth.

Matt Brehmer found himself in reverse roles as last week as this week he benefited from a late race flat tire of Shaun Bangart. Brehmer passed race long leader Bangart coming to the white flag and picked up his eighth feature of the season in front of Scott Johnson. Bangart fell to third with Nathan Lisowe fourth and Zach Degner fifth.
