DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND AUGUST 9-10 AT 141 SPEEDWAY

Francis Creek, WI (August 4, 2014)- The first of two double header weekends in August happens this Saturday and Sunday, August 9-10 at 141 Speedway.

Saturday marks the final race in the Gandrud Chevrolet Red, White & Blue Series, a series which will award over $10,000 in contingencies for the IMCA Modifieds, along with National, Regional, State and Track points. In addition to contingencies from Arneson Shock Service, BSB Manufacturing, Fast Shafts and Manitowoc Motor and Machine, the Series Champion will receive a GM 604 Crate Engine courtesy of Gandrud Chevrolet.

All three of the $1,000 to win Gandrud Chevrolet Red, White & Blue Series races have also been Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifiers. Urbana, IA hot-shoe Darin Duffy is the current series point leader with New Franken, Wisconsin’s Shawn Kilgore trailing by just two points going into the final event. Sean Jerovetz of Suamico, WI is seven points back in third and Denmark, Wisconsin’s Tim Czarneski is tied with Brad Lautenbach of New Franken nine points back to round out the top 5.

As part of the regular weekly racing action at 141 Speedway, the IMCA Modifieds will be joined on track by IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Northern SportMods, Street Stocks, Grand Nationals and Sport-4s. Spectator gates open at 4pm and racing starts at 6pm.

Sunday, the action will move to a purpose built track on the infield for a LMMTPA sanctioned Mini and Modified Tractor Pull. Pulling everything from Stock Garden Tractors to the rip-roaring Mini Rods and featuring competitors from 5 years of age to those with “advanced life experience,” this event guarantees a good time for all. Action starts at 2pm with free grandstand admission.

141 Speedway’s second double header weekend will be August 23-24 for Stock’s Harley-Davidson Season Championship night on the 23rd and a N.E.W. Sanctioned Truck & Tractor Pull on the 24th. Stock’s Harley-Davidson Night will mark the giveaway of a brand new Harley-Davidson Iron 883 to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Purchase a chance to win the Harley in the Left Turn Lounge, located at 141 Speedway, for only $20. Just 1,000 chances will be sold and 100% of the proceeds go to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
