TEAMS LOOK TO STOP PHILLIP MOCK STREAK AT BEAVER DAM!

July 30, 2014; Appleton, WI. – It’s time to slow down and yet still go fast! After a hectic three weekend for the teams of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints the series is presenting a single show this weekend at a track where many teams are located only a few miles away.

On Saturday Night August 2nd, Beaver Dam Raceway hill host it’s fourth scheduled contest of the 2014 season for the 900 horsepower winged sprints.

Phillip Mock captured two of those contests earlier in the year, while the most recent race scheduled at the track, back on June 7th, fell to rain after torrential rains hit the facility just after hot laps.

For Mock the season has had definite highs and lows. While he was able to earn his first two career victories in convincing fashion at Beaver Dam Raceway, his season had come to an unexpected halt when he expired a motor during a 410-sprint program at Wilmot Raceway.

He is expected to borrow a machine from Darrell Dodd for the upcoming show at Beaver Dam Raceway.

Engine failures have stressed a fair number of teams this season, but car counts have remained solid. Still, series regulars such as Mock, Dave Uttech, Lance Fassbender, and Wayne Modjeski have all seen additional challenges by having to seek out and replace powerplants.

With Beaver Dam Raceway being more a momentum track, which has high-banked turns, and a one third-mile length, it is expected to be a bit easier on equipment than some of the more recent shows.

Currently Bill Balog sits atop the series standings on the strength of eight wins. The runner-up spot his hotly contest as nearly a half dozen drivers are within striking distance. Bill Rose has the position with a small advantage, but Scotty Neitzel, Scotty Thiel, Ben Schmidt, and Mike Reinke are all in the hunt heading into Beaver Dam for second in the current standings.

Other drivers are shooting for a position within the top ten in points include, Scott Uttech, Steve Meyer, Lance Fassbender, Kris Spitz, Russel Borland, Blake Nimee, Dave Uttech, Wayne Modjeski and Brandon Thone.

Action this Saturday night August 2nd is set to get underway with racing at 6:30pm. Qualifying for the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints is scheduled for 6:00pm. The pits will open at 3:30pm and fans can grab their favorite seat when the grandstands open at 4:30pm.
