JIM FALLS, WI (July 27, 2014) – Bob 99.9 FM sponsored the Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, IRA Interstate Racing Association, 410 Sprint Cars along with the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, and EVS Pure Stocks. Winners including Bill Balog, John Feirn, Adam Soltis, and George Richards.

After a daylong threat of rain, the crowd was greeted with cool weather and amazingly fast racing. The Midwest Modified feature had Darrel Hazelton and John Feirn setting the pace with Feirn announcing very early he was going to be difficult to contend with for the lead. As Feirn secured the top spot, Michael Truscott raced to second and Cory Crapser to third. In the early going, there were moments of three wide racing for the point, but Feirn fought off the challenges. Soon, Feirn, who was running a perfect race on the high side gained a slight edge and the two CRC team cars battled aggressively for the second spot. Two caution flags resetting the field did not unsettle Feirn as he flawlessly drove to the win. Truscott finished second as back row starter, Nick Koehler finished a fine run to third, getting Crapser for the position late in the race. Shane Halopka closed out the top five in an exciting event.

The Street Stock feature was scheduled to have Travis Hazelton on the pole, however, he was on his way to the hospital as his significant other was flirting with labor in the pits. With perhaps another racing Hazelton on the way, the race was started with Bill Skoug showing the way. However, Adam Soltis raced to the lead and never looked back, dominating the event. A fast paced race found Mike Knutson finishing a strong second, followed by Skoug, and Heidi Karshbaum.

The Pure Stock feature was started with Cody Tisdale and Jay Barnier Jr. on the front row. Barnier Jr. looked strong on the start but George Richards roared to the lead on lap one. Richards never looked back as he raced to yet another feature win. Todd Roshell drove from the back row to second as Barnier Jr. had a very impressive run to finish third. Pat Smith and Nicholas Hazelton-Perry filled out the top five.

The IRA Sprint Cars took to the track to run their 30 lap feature to highlight the evening. In a situation that is seldom seen, the leaders of the race actually turned lap times in the feature which were faster than the qualifying times which were held on a heavier racing surface. There was one caution flag in the event, slowing the pace long enough for lap counters to regain their spots and fans to take a breath. All 30 laps were led by front row started Bill Balog as he won his fourth feature of the weekend and his eight out of 13 starts on the season.

The speeds were breakneck and truly the fastest to have ever been run in racing completion at Eagle Valley Speedway. The leader drove sub 13 second laps as he raced himself into heavy lapped traffic. The other top five cars were not shaken however, as they followed through, literally slicing and dicing their way through a maze of cars. Balog was followed to the checkers by Mike Reinke, three time champion Travis Whitney, World of Outlaw driver Booke Tatnell, and Bill Rose.
