Calling all Street Stocks…the $500 bounty on Billy LeMieux still remains

By Edward Anschutz
(Sturgeon Bay, WI) July 2, 2014- The 2nd Annual John Soukup Memorial will pay $1,500 to the winner and $150 to start the feature in the IMCA Sport Mods. Draw re-draw will set the field. This special event will take place on Friday July 4th. Luxemburg Speedway has the night off. All 5 divisions will be in action. The Sport Mod headliner will be 40 laps with a 10 minute competition caution on the front stretch in front of the grandstands at the midway point. Drivers will be allowed out of their car and crews will be able work on their machines.

It’s also Topless Night for the Sport Mods. All Sport Mods MUST remove their roofs and sail panels to be eligible for $1,500 top prize. I’ll repeat that, in order to claim the $1,500 for the win you must have the roof and sail panels removed. If not standard pay applies to any position.

It will NOT be a track point night for the Mods, Stock Cars or Sport Mods but will be IMCA sanctioned with National, State and Regional points awarded. This is done so competing drivers at the Oshkosh Speedzone can stay in the points chase.

Racing starts at 6:00 PM Entry for the event will be the same price as a regular show. For the pits non-members are $25 and members are $20. No extra fees! Grandstand tickets are same as regular points night $10 per adult. No extra cost for anyone entering the pits or stands.

Mods, Stock Cars and Sport Mods lineups will be through draw re-draw for heats and features. It will be a regular point night for the IMCA Hobby Stocks and Street Stocks. $1 Busch Light with paid wristband.

One spot in the Sport Mod feature will be randomly drawn for an $100 courtesy of Vicky and Gary Soukup.

Gretz Carpentry and Remodeling of Kewaunee will sponsor $100 to the racer who leads lap 24 of feature.

Huge thanks to Gnome Games, Sal Mar Resort and division sponsor LaVine’s Ice for the added winners purse.
