LaCrosse Scores $2,500 in IMCA Modified Win at Luxemburg Speedway

(Luxemburg, WI)- Benji LaCrosse has won some big races and championships in his racing career. LaCrosse added to the already illustrious career when he grabbed the IMCA Modified Feature win. LaCrosse started twentieth on the field and drove through traffic for the win. Only five cautions flew during the feature events showing the great sportsmanship throughout the divisions.

Justin Lindner won the Street Stock/Hobby Stock Challenge Friday night. Other winners were Brandon Czarapata(IMCA Stockcars) and Tracy Wassenberg(IMCA Sportmods.)

Shawn Kilgore started up front in the IMCA Modified Main Event and jumped in front of the twenty-six car starting field. By lap ten, Kilgore had a lead of around four car lengths on Jeff Taylor. Taylor ran the extreme outside to track down Kilgore and take the lead on lap twelve. Benji LaCrosse started twentieth and charged up in the field and by lap twenty-three found himself in third. A caution on lap thirty allowed Kilgore and LaCrosse to get to the back bumper of Taylor. Both Kilgore and LaCrosse timed the restart perfect and went three-wide with Taylor for a near full lap. Taylor had bite on the top and regained the lead by himself. The next four laps saw LaCrosse try everything possible to make the pass without touching the leader. LaCrosse would throw the car in the corner and allow just enough room to Taylor to keep his line. Taylor who was running the high side of the track had his throttle stick with five laps remaining causing him to
slam into the wall. LaCrosse had nowhere to go and made heavy contact with the leader. LaCrosse would be able to resume the race but Taylor was not as fortunate. LaCrosse restarted the race with five laps remaining and checked out like a grocery store. LaCrosse extended his lead by a near straightaway in the waning laps to take the win. Scott Drake made a late race charge to finish second. Jason Czarapata worked around Lance Arneson for third. Kilgore fell to fifth at the end.

The only caution of the IMCA Stockcar Feature waved on lap two. Eric Malfroid led through the caution but was quickly tracked down by Brandon Czarapata. Czarapata ran behind Malfroid until the door went open on lap four. Czarapata made the pass with Justin Temeyer following behind. Temeyer stayed glued to the bumper off Czarapata over the next ten laps. Rod Snellenberger ran down the top duo after getting around Malfroid. The top three were in a breakaway from the field and left to settle the score. Czarapata stayed down low and pulled away late for his third win of the season. Temeyer beat Snellenberger back to the line for second. Malfroid stayed in fourth with Evan Madden rounding out the top five.

Lucas Lamberies had one shot at the IMCA Sportmod win as he snatched the lead up front early. Tracy Wassenberg came flying by Lamberies and into the lead on lap three. By lap ten Wassenberg had built a straightaway lead over the competition. Wassenberg’s only trial was entering lapped traffic on lap thirteen. He got through lapped vehicles and went on to win his third feature of the season. Andy Kleczka improved his point lead with a late race pass on Lamberies for second. Jeremy Cota finished fourth and Christopher Budzban fifth in the caution free race.

Justin Lindner made his visit to Luxemburg Speedway a successful one as he took home the Street Stock/Hobby Stock Challenge. Lindner led every lap in taking home the checkered flag. He would grab the lead early and lead through two cautions. The last caution set up a two lap dash for cash. Lindner left no doubt in his competitors as he pulled away in the win. Andy Fuhrmann finished a season best second in front of Scott Karbon. Marcus Moede beat Keith Kickbusch to the checkered flag to take fourth.
