Mike Mullen has $10,000 Reasons to Celebrate at The Clash at the Creek

(Francis Creek, WI)- Some guys never earn $10,000 in their career let alone win that in one night. That is exactly what Mike Mullen accomplished with his win Thursday night at 141 Speedway. Mullen was the top dog of the 69 car field over two nights.

Luke Lemmens earned his first career IMCA Stockcar Feature win at 141 Speedway. He was rewarded with a $500 payday.

Scott Boyea picked up his first feature win of the season in the IMCA Sportmod division. He won $500 for his win.

The IMCA Modified Feature saw twenty-four of the best drivers in the nation take to the green flag to start the fifty lap main event. Mike Mullen started on the pole by virtue of two heat wins on Wednesday night. Mullen opened up strong with a half straightaway lead by lap ten over Darin Duffy. Jeff Taylor worked his way around Duffy by lap twenty which was the only caution of the race. When the race restarted Mullen again forged ahead with Taylor in tow. Josh Long started thirteenth on the field and started knocking off cars as he ran a smooth race down low. Long made the trip to third by lap thirty but never got a caution that he needed. Mullen entered lapped traffic with twelve laps remaining and took his time methodically. Mullen worked through two and three wide lapped traffic. Mullen scored the biggest win of his career as he led wire to wire. Taylor finished in the second spot with rookie driver Long in third. Duffy settled
for fourth
with James Tebon fifth.

It has been a career year so far and a season that Luke Lemmens won’t soon forget. Lemmens started on the pole of the twenty-five lap main event in the IMCA Stockcars. Lemmens and Justin Temeyer started the charge up front with Lemmens gaining the advantage of the bat. John Heinz started seventh and quickly rose to the occasion again and started moving to the front. Heinz got to the back bumper of the leader when the only two cautions took place on lap eleven. Lemmens jumped up front but not without heavy pressure from Heinz. With five laps remaining, Lemmens led Heinz who had pressure of his own from Bret Koehler and Rod Snellenberger who started twelfth. Lemmens remained under pressure until the checkered flew as he picked up the win. Heinz settled for the bridesmaid spot for the second night in a row. Koehler beat Snellenberger to the line for third. Rob Waechter rounded out the top five.

Scott Boyea was tested quite a bit in the IMCA Sportmod Feature but proved to be up to the task. Boyea redrew the number one spot for the starting lineup. Boyea quickly came under pressure from Andy Kleczka who tried several maneuvers to get around the leader. Brian Bruechert joined the duo for make it a three car battle for $500. A couple of cautions mid race kept everyone in a tight pack. Bruechert would time two restarts perfect but could never find enough momentum like Wednesday night. With five laps remaining, Kleczka jumped a tire in a last ditch effort to go for the win. Boyea stayed true and picked up the W. Kleczka beat Bruechert for second. Cody Schroeder wound up fourth. Mike Dauphinais made a last corner pass for fifth.
