Firecracker Special Scheduled For Rice Lake Speedway
on June 21, 2014 at 1:09 pmRice Lake WI – The Rice Lake Speedway will celebrate the Independence Day holiday in a big way with the annual Firecracker special slated for the speedway on Thursday, July 3rd.
Traditionally the largest crowd of the year gathers at the speedway on Rice Lake’s north side for the Firecracker special which offers a full racing program plus one of the best fireworks displays in the area.
A full racing program will be held for all the divisions that normally race at the track and that would include WISSOTA sanctioned modifieds, Midwest modifieds, super stocks and street stocks along with the Rice Lake pure stocks and hornets.
With this being a off night race and with the holiday falling on the next day, a considerable number of visiting drivers are expected to join the regular Saturday night competitors to provide a top notch racing program and after dusk, the fireworks display which will feature both ground and aerial displays will be held. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the speedway early and secure their favorite seats. The pit gates will open at 4 p.m. with the grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps will commence at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.
The rain date for this event is Saturday, July 5th. However, if the program on July 3rd is completed as scheduled, there will be no racing at the speedway on Saturday, July 5th and racing will resume on Saturday, July 12th with the annual appearance of the unlimited winged outlaw sprints of the Interstates Racing Association, featuring current point leader and defending champion and former Barron County resident , Bill Balog.
