Jerovetz, Heinz, Dauphinais, Naidl, Diefenthaler and Brehmer Win at 141 Speedway

(Francis Creek, WI)- Friday night Troy Jerovetz led at the white flag and spun; Saturday night he redeemed himself by earning the IMCA Modified Feature win.

Other Feature winners from Saturday were John Heinz(IMCA Stockcar) Mike Dauphinais(IMCA Sportmod) Kevin Naidl(Grand National) Paul Diefenthaler(Street Stock) and Matt Brehmer(4 Cylinder.)

Mike Joski and Troy Jerovetz started on the front row of the IMCA Modified Feature and for the majority of the race they stayed the top two. Joski led the opening four laps of the feature before it was General time. Troy Jerovetz rode around the top of 141 Speedway and into the lead on lap five. He built up a straightaway lead by the halfway point of the race. Shawn Kilgore had forward bite all night in the feature as he worked his way to the front after starting eleventh. Unfortunately for Kilgore the race went caution free and Jerovetz had already checked out from the field. Jerovetz won his first feature of the season at the Speedway. Kilgore finished second. Tony Wedelstadt raced up front all feature long and finished third in front of Brad Theys. Johnny Whitman cut into the point lead with his fifth place finish.

Rick Mahlberg has probably never disliked lapped traffic more than Saturday night in the IMCA Stockcar Showdown. Mahlberg jumped up front in the feature and led through a couple early cautions. John Heinz quickly jumped from eighth to second and tracked down Mahlberg. Heinz stayed patient in attempting the pass for the lead as he stayed in the shadows of Mahlberg. Luke Lemmens made it a three car race over the next ten laps. Lapped traffic helped decide this feature as Mahlberg came up on Peter Frasier with four laps remaining. Frasier got loose in front of the leader making Mahlberg hit the brakes. Heinz used this to his advantage and shot down under Mahlberg and into the lead. A final caution set up a green, white, checker finish. Troy Muench came back into the mix and shot to the outside of Heinz as the white flag flew. Heinz was too tough down low and pulled Muench for his third win of the season. Mahlberg had to settle for
third. Bret
Koehler charged all the way from the back after going down pit lane to finish fourth. Mark Schuenemann finished fifth in his second run of the year.

A classic finish had fans on there feet in the IMCA Sportmod Feature. Race Van Pay lead 19 laps and every inch but the last inch on the final lap. Van Pay worked the lead with Hunter Parsons in tow throughout the first half of the race. The youngsters put on quite a show never touching in racing side by side. Van Pay was able to always pull Parsons out of the corners. A final caution flew with 10 laps remaining allowing Mike Dauphinais and Brandon Long to join the leaders. Van Pay stayed in the clear up front by himself with Parsons, Long and Dauphinais going three-wide at times for second. With three laps to go, Long ran the outside with Dauphinais down low as they took the race three-wide again only this time for the lead. Van Pay and Dauphinais saw the white flag first with one lap to settle the score. Off of turn four, Van Pay gave Dauphinais just enough room on the bottom and he used it. Dauphinais beat Van Pay by mere inches for
the win.
It was his first win of the season. Van Pay settled for second in his best career feature finish. Brandon Long finished third after the three car battle. Hunter Parsons had another strong fourth. Scott Boyea rounded out the top five.

Justin Green had engine issues as of late but had them good to go as he showed the Grand National Feature around the 1/3 mile. Green led the first caution allowing Kevin Naidl to get to his back bumper on the restart. Naidl showed his champion colors and took the lead on the next lap. Naidl led through one final caution and took off from the field. He picked up his second straight win with a convincing half straightaway win over Charlie Sancinati. Time Doehling strolled along in third. Shawn Schmitt increased his point lead after finishing fourth. Green had his best finish of the season with his fifth place run.

Nick Propson led the opening lap of the Street Stock main event before contact sent him spinning on lap two. Matt Warner ran the top and Justin Mahlberg the bottom as a side by side battle for the lead ensued. Mahlberg gained control on lap six. Defending champion Paul Diefenthaler charged under the green flag from tenth to second. With eight laps remaining he found himself on the back bumper of the youngster. Diefenthaler made the move and into the lead. Diefenthaler left everyone in his wake in picking up his first win of the season. Diefenthaler earned max points on the night as he also won his heat race. Mahlberg beat Shawn Haydon at the line by a bumper for second. Andy Fuhrmann beat Eric Derks to the checkered flag for fourth. The race went caution free.

Melissa Clark led the opening lap of the 4 Cylinder Feature before the point leader came cruising passed on lap two. Matt Brehmer picked up his sixth feature win of the season in the caution free race. Scott Johnson won the 4 car battle for second. Kasey Gross finished third with Tony Fletcher and Shaun Bangart rounding out the top five.
