Our Hometown A&W sponsored the trophies as well as brought “Rooty” the bear out to greet the winners in Victory Lane and entertain youngsters in the grandstand.
GRAND NATIONALS
The Grand National feature rolled into position on the grid with the bright yellow 74 Chad Ninmer (Cleveland) on the pole with 44t Paul Tod (Red Granite) on the outside. A yellow was thrown before a lap could be completed as the 7s of Tim Simon (Fon du Lac) and 7 Brian Gilles (Plymouth) got together in Turn 2. The event came back to the green with Ninmer grabbing the lead, and 8x Brad Juckem (Chilton) flying into second. Another yellow flew before a second lap was run as Simon and 13 Josh Pierce got together in Turn 4. Ninmer led the field back to green once again, with Juckem, 21 Kevin Lubach (Elkhart Lake), Tod, and 34 Steven Weber (Plymouth) up front. Juckem used the high line to roll around Ninmer for the lead a lap later, while Lubach moved into second. Weber and last weeks feature winner 98n Kevin Naidl (Cato) moved up to challenge Lubach hard as the black and green 8x still held the point. On Lap 8 Lubach got the drop on Juckem, moving into the lead while Naidl, Gilles and Weber fought for 3rd. Through the middle of the race, the top 3 switched positions almost every lap, as drivers were using different lines around the 1/3 mile. Juckem put a power move on Lubach grabbing the lead back on Lap 16, with Naidl following in his tracks. Juckem crossed under the checkers for a hard earned victory with Naidl, Lubach, Gilles and Weber rounding out the top 5. Naidl picked up hard charger honors, passing 9 cars.

BAILEGH INDUSTRIAL LATE MODELS
The black and orange 79 of Jim Schmidt (Cleveland) and black 74m Mitch McGrath (Waukesha) led the Baileigh Industrial Late Models down of the banking to the green, with Schmidt moving immediately to the point. One lap in yellow flew as 18 Nick Cochart spun in Turn 2, while 19t Dave Thomas (Milwaukee) ducked into the pits for repairs and returned. Schmidt, McGrath, 7b Tim Buhler (Glenbeulah), 74 Russ Scheffler (Waukesha) and 8 Bob Cullen (Chilton) paced the field back to green. Caution flew again before another lap was put in the books for an incident in Turn 3 involving a handful of cars including 98 Tom Naeyaert (Shawano), 6 Tony Peterson (Big Bend), and 97 Justin Schmidt (Cleveland). All 3 cars pitted for repairs and returned to action, while the d7 of Jim Letizia also pitted and was forced to retire. Jim Schmidt led the group back to green one more time, and Buhler immediately took advantage of a great start to get around McGrath. Deep in the field, the 19 Eric Van Iten (Green Bay) and 33 Ron Stroika (Mukwonago) were steadily moving up and were just outside the top 6 ten laps in. Rolling through the halfway mark it was still Schmidt, Buhler, McGrath, Scheffler, and Cullen in the top 5, with 70 Todd Jensema (Sheboygan Falls) working on Cullen. Jensema produced the next caution as the car lost power on the frontstretch on Lap 19, and several drivers headed to the pits including Thomas, Peterson, Justin Schmidt, and 8r Billy Rezutek (Big Bend). Jensema was the only driver able to return before Schmidt led the field back to the green for the final 6 lap Dash. Schmidt was able to hold off Buhler for his second win of the year, while McGrath held off Scheffler for 3rd. Cullen, Van Iten, Jensema, and Stroika rounded out the top 8. Stroika earned hard charger honors passing 9 cars, while Van Iten picked up 8.

DEFAUT AUTO SPORTMODS
The Defaut Auto Sportmods were the next event out of the chute, although XX Jason Schilling (West Allis) and 565 Jake Maurer suffered mechanical issues, not making the call. Two Rivers Jesse Brey and 30 Tracy Wassenberg (Shawano) made up the front row rolling to green. Wassenberg took the first lap lead with 94 JJ Anderson (Pulaski) scooting into 2nd. Caution flew on Lap 2 for a spin involving 84 Bradley Ruh (Elkhart Lake) and 25 Travis Ahrens, both cars were able to continue while Brey retired with an ailing motor. Wassenberg led Anderson and the rest back to the green with 20 Cody Schroeder (Manitowoc) and 22b Brandon Berth (Cascade) battling behind them. Lap 5 produced another caution period, this time it was 34 Cody Eickberg (Plymouth) spinning out in Turn 3. On the restart caution immediately came out again, as 2k Rick Kretschmann (Sheboygan Falls) crashed and retired for the night, along with 53 Gary Glander (Sheboygan Falls). Wassenberg got the field restarted once more, only to complete 1 lap before a spinning 22b of Berth produced a yellow. Wassenberg tried yet again to get the race going, but this time Anderson crashed on the backstretch bringing out one more yellow. Ruh ducked into the pits to remove some body damage and returned to the event as Wassenberg led them down to green with Schroeder, 34f Cole Fenske (Cascade) and 17b Ben VanWyk (Waldo) in his tracks. Lap 10 brought the race to a time limit conclusion with Wassenberg the winner.

PROFESSIONAL PLATING INC. 360 SPRINTCARS
With 24 Scott Conger (Eagle) and 26 Al Schlafer (Sussex) on the front row, there were 2 yellows deeper in the field before a full lap was run. One of them sent current points leader 39s Randy Sippel (Elkhart Lake) to the pits with a mechanical issue. When the green finally flew Conger grabbed the lead of the Professional Plating Inc. 360 Sprint feature. The 21h Tim Haddy (Waupan) slipped around Schlafer into second on Lap 2, then around Conger for the lead on Lap 4. At the midway mark 99 Kyle Marten (Sheboygan Falls) moved into second putting pressure on Haddy, while 15m Justin Miller (Plymouth) was pushing Conger for 3rd. Miller got the best of Conger 4 laps later and moved solidly into third, leaving Conger and Schlafer to battle for 4th. Haddy held off Marten for his first win of the young season, with Miller, Conger, and 4 Paul Pokorski (West Bend) rounding out the top 5. Hard charger Marten picked up 4 spots.

Newcomers to EWSC Racing returned after a several year hiatus as 9 Randy Ostermann Jr. and OK of Brandon Kaye led the Sport Four feature to the track. Kaye grabbed the early lead, but Ralph Liegeois Jr. moved up from the last starting position to take the lead on Lap 3. Yellow lights turned on for the final time of the night on Lap 4 for debris. Liegeois Jr. led Kaye, 07m Ben Meyerhofer, 3 Justin Erickson, and 71 Brian Seger back to green, with Meyerhofer making a easy pass on Kaye for 2nd spot. Erickson moved into a battle with Kaye, and picked up 3rd spot with 2 laps to go. Liegeois easily earned hard charger and the victory, followed by Meyerhofer, Erickson, Kaye, and 52 Brad Prahl.
