Riehl, Frederick and VanStraten put on a great show in front of the field as the race ran on. Frederick was able to pass Riehl for the lead on lap twelve, but Riehl took the lead right back entering turn one on the next lap. Riehl would continue to work the outside lane around the track and hold the lead until turn four of the final lap. Frederick finally made the pass for the win as the checkered flag flew. Entering turn three Taycher got a bit too high and made contact with the wall allowing Wassenberg and Lamberies to pass him in turn four. Wassenberg would go on to hold off Lamberies for the win.
