Menomonie WI, May 2 – For the second straight Friday, the Red Cedar Speedway has been forced to postpone their opening night of racing for the 2014 racing season.
A week of near epic rains and cool temperatures have made the Fairgrounds far too wet for any hope of racing to take place this week.
Track officials will make a third attempt to get the season going on Friday, May 9th when the now scheduled opener will be sponsored by Norske Kitchen & Kro and Trail Dodge Chrysler Jeep.
Pit gates are expected to open at 3 p.m. for opening night only with the grandstands to open at 5 p.m. The draw cutoff is 6:30 p.m. and racing will begin at 7 p.m.
On hand to entertain the fans will be WISSOTA sanctioned late models, modifieds, super stocks, Midwest modifieds and street stocks along with the Red Cedar Pure Stocks.
Keep up with developments at the track by logging on to the speedway website at www.redcedarspeedway.com , their face book page or call the track at 715-235-6318.
