Rice Lake WI, April 21 – The Rice Lake Speedway is scheduled to start their sixty second season of racing at the dirt track on the north side of Rice Lake on Saturday, April 26th. After a one week delay due to wet grounds, everything is in order for racing to commence this coming Saturday.
According to track co-owner Dave Adams, as of Monday morning, things are ready to go at the speedway. “The track and pits are dry and everything is ready for racing to begin,” according to Adams. “We are supposed to get some rain midweek, and we’ll just have to see how that affects things.”

The Wednesday, April 23rd practice session at the speedway is also still planned. On Wednesday, the practice will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and all classes of cars are welcome to participate. Spectators are also encouraged to drop by the track and check out the practice as there is no charge at the spectator gates.
On Saturday, the pit gate will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps slated for 6:30 p.m. and racing to follow. Set to compete will be WISSOTA sanctioned modifieds, super stocks, Midwest modifieds and street stocks along with the Rice Lake pure stocks. Also making their initial appearance will be the new class added for 2014, the four cylinder, front wheel drive Hornet division, added as a “feeder” class and a way for new drivers to try out dirt track racing without a huge investment.
A number of special events are slated during the year at the speedway with the first big show slated for May 8th with the United States Modified Touring Series(USMTS) is booked to invade the speedway with their band of traveling stars from across the country.
