The Oshkosh Speedzone’s practice held on Saturday April 19, 2014 was a huge success.
With over 75 cars in the pit area representing divisions from 410 Sprint Cars, Late Models, Modifieds, 360 Sprint Cars, Northern Sport Mods, Stock Cars, Grand nationals, Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders to Legends. Hopefully this is a nice indication of what is to come for the Speedzone 2014 season.
Weather started out cooler but topped out around 54 degrease and mostly sunny. Track was in exceptional form for this time of year especially with the snow and rain earlier in the week. The track was smooth and took rubber very nice. 2014 looks to be a great year for the Speedzone.
The 2014 race season kicks off Friday April 25, 2014 with 6 divisions taking the track. The Automotive Supply Company IMCA Modifieds, Total Powersales IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Northern Sport Mods, Outlaw Chassis Grand Nationals, Gold Star Racing Supply Street Stocks and Ellington Mutual Insurance Dirt Devils. Pit gates will open at 4:00 PM for draw, redraw, Grandstands open at 5:00 PM and racing will kick off at 7:00 PM. Adults are just $11.00, students 11-15 $7.00 students 10 and under free. Pit passes are $25.00.
The IRA Outlaw Sprint Car show will also be rescheduled for Sunday May 4, 2014. Supporting divisions will be Outlaw Chassis Grand Nationals, Gold star Racing Supply Street Stocks and the Ellington Mutual Insurance Dirt Devils. With this also being the season opener for Seymour Super Speedway we will not force drivers to choose a track for points so this will be a NON points night for the Street Stocks. However the Grand Nationals and Dirt Devils will remain a points night. Draw/redraw for the Street Stocks will begin at noon. Pit gates will open at Noon, grandstands at 2:00 pm hot laps and qualifying at 4:00 pm and racing at 5:00. Adults $20.00, students 11-15 $10.00 10 and under free. Pit passes are just $30.00. The supporting divisions will also run for an increased purse.
