JIM FALLS, WI (April 16, 2014) – Cold weather and snowy conditions have forced the cancellation of both the yearly practice night and the 2014 season opener at the Eagle Valley Speedway which was scheduled for Sunday, April 20, 2014. Although the weather has not cooperated, the racing surface is ready and the season opener has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 27, 2014. Six classes with the WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, EVS Pure Stocks, and EVS Hornets will take to the track for competition.

The Eagle Valley Speedway races every Sunday night of the racing season, providing exciting entertainment at an affordable family price. Located a mere 12 miles from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, it is a great way to end any weekend as the racing action is fast and the show is quickly paced, allowing fans and families to get home at a reasonable hour. Jerry and Janice Weigel go the extra mile to make sure your racing experience is an outstanding one with souvenirs, terrific food, clean facilities, and a top notch show. They are providing the Chippewa Valley with an outstanding facility and racing to match in what may unfortunately be the best kept secret in WISSOTA. Sunday nights are where several National Champions and National Championship contenders will be returning to duke it out on the high banks along with all of your local favorites.

This year’s action includes regular WISSOTA racing on Sundays, April 27, May 4, 11, and 18. The Memorial Day double header will be held on Sunday and Monday, May 25 and 26.

Sunday night racing resumes on June 1 and 8. On Sunday, June 15, the Midwest Modifieds, Street, and Pure Stocks will provide the supporting action for the US Modified Touring Series. The USMTS will bring in the nation’s best modified drivers to compete for a large purse against the local talents. It is simply a can’t miss show! June racing will be filled out on Sunday June 22 and 29.

The Eagle Valley Speedway will enter into July with racing action on Sunday July 6, 13, and 20. On July 27 the Midwest Modifieds, Street, and Pure Stocks will provide the supporting action for the IRA Sprint Special as the IRA invades the valley and track speed records are in jeopardy.

August kicks off on Saturday August 2 with the Enduro Races and WISSOTA racing action returns on Sunday August 3. The kids will be allowed on the track to meet the drivers, see the cars up close, and take home some candy and treats on Kids Night, August 10. Sunday, August 17 brings the 13th Annual Lonnie Leu Memorial, and the Eve of Devastation is Saturday August 23. Sunday August 24 offers a rain date for the Eve of Devastation and features the 2014 Season Championship Night. August closes out with WISSOTA Racing Action in the Labor Day double header with continued racing with the last race of the 2014 season on Labor Day, Monday, September 1.

Race night sponsors throughout the season include River Country Coop, Baxter’s Engines, Baxter’s Speedshop, and Tim’s Automotive. There is a kid’s bike giveaway every race night sponsored by Kelly Oium Well Drilling of Strum and Kris Oium Asphalt Paving of Eleva. One lucky boy and one lucky girl will win a bike every week!

The pits open at 4:00 PM with draw cut off at 5:30 PM. The main gates open at 4:30 PM for spectators with Hot Laps beginning at 5:30 PM and racing action at 6:00 PM. General Gate Admission is $13.00 for adults, $10.00 for senior citizens and ages 12 and under get in free with a paid adult. Pit passes are $25.00.
