April 12, 2014 will mark the day of the 7th Annual Charity Event & Car Show.
Where: The Draft Haus, 901 Egg Harbor Road, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235
When: 11:00 – 5:00
Modifieds*Sport Mod*Stock Cars*Hobby Stocks*Street Stock*Hot Rods*Motorcycles*Original*Rat Rods*Customs*
Registration 9:00-12:00 (Trophies Awarded at 4:00)
2 Best of show 1 for each class
This years honoree is George Henkel!! In April of 2010 George was diagnosed with mouth cancer and had to have a cancerous lesion removed from the left side of his tongue along with left lymph nodes and saliva glands followed by 30 radiation treatments. Since that time George sees doctors every other month and in July of 2013 had another tumor removed that was not cancer but an infected tumor that could have led to cancer. On December 23, 2013 another lesion was found and after a biopsy was once again squamous cell carcinoma. After more testing to make sure it did not travel, George had surgery on January 15,2014 to remove this cancer and more monthly doctor appointments will follow to Madison and Green Bay. At this time no further radiation will be done as it is only three years since the last treatments and more damage could be done rather than good.
