(FRANCIS CREEK, WI) October 6 – “The High Side Hustler” Kyle Frederick of Oconto Falls fended off current “Hot Rod” Snellenberger of Pulaski at the line and captured his first Iron Horse Sales & Service Badger Stock Tour feature presented by Kick Ass Drive Train and Iron Horse Recycling during night two of the Creek Classic at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek.
The two day special was rained out on Saturday and was run Sunday.
Frederick, who started 3rd, led throughout a balance of the contest and through caution periods. In the closing laps Rod Snellenberger of Pulaski applied the chrome horn to Frederick but Frederick, who was guest driving Ben Kroll’s White Lightning chassis, held off for the win. Rod Snellenberger took second at the pay window with his son Devin Snellenberger of Pulaski taking third.
In the modified division it was a wild one with Mike Wedelstadt of Freedom who led and had ten laps to go but broke when he hit the berm up in turn one. Josh Long of Suamico was given the lead by Wedelstadt breaking and Long would go on to capture his first career feature and collect the cool $1200 cash. Lance Arneson of Oconto Falls started seventeenth but made it up to the second spot after numerous cautions that took several cars out of the contest. Algoma’s Todd Dart went door-to-door with Arneson for the second spot but came up short and settled for third with Jared Siefert of Luxemburg battling up front in the top four all race long and finished there. Eric Mahlik of Green Bay started 21st and slowly worked his way through the field and avoided countless cautions but placed his car in fifth.
A total of over 250 cars competed during the two day event.
Suamico’s Andy Kleczka led from the drop of the green and survived several cautions and captured the win in the sport mod feature. Ryan Lemioux of Sturgeon Bay was right on his back bumper for most of the race but came up short in second. Abram’s Scott Boyea took third with Brian Bruechert of Kewaunee fourth and Steve Schneider of Chilton fifth.
Defending 141 2013 track champion Kevin Naidl of Whitelaw took the lead and sweated out numerous cautions late in the race to capture the checkered flag. Charlie Sancinati of West Allis makes a last lap charge to pass Naidl but came up short with Roger Lee in third and Kodiak Wirtz fourth.
Kewaunee’s Keith “The Kicker” Kickbusch led most of the caution filled street stock feature and went on to win the time shortened race. Kickbush mixed it up with Luxemburg’s Scott Boulanger for the lead on several occasions but came up short in the runner up spot. Eddie Anschutz battled up front in the top four all race long after he fell back a few spots from starting second and ended third at the line. Jerry Winkler of Oshkosh charged from 11th to finish fourth with Justin Linder of Colby fifth.
