141 SPEEDWAY AMPS UP FOR FOURTH ANNUAL CREEK CLASSIC OCT. 4 & 5 (BADGER MOD, BADGER STOCK TOUR TITLES TO BE DECIDED)
(Francis Creek, WI) Sept. 24 – 141 Speedway in Francis Creek is ready to roll for it’s fourth annual Creek Classic racing party October 4 and 5 at the high-banked, third mile, clay oval.
The season ending bash, which will see champions crowned in both the Badger Mod Tour and Badger Stock Tours last year drew 303 cars and dozens of fans and teams from a four state area camped and celebrated northeast Wisconsin’s final racing bash of the 2013 season.
Last year defending BMT champion Brian Mullen charged through the field from dead last to win both the BMT season finale and the championship on Friday night. Other winners on night two a year ago included 141 Speedway Hansel Trucking IMCA modified track champion Shawn Kilgore (New Franken) Wind Lake’s Roger Lee (Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals), “The Angry American” Mark Schunemann (Boulder Junction) in IMCA stock cars, “The Dirt Flirt” Joey Taycher (Mackville) in Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods, Oshkosh’s Jerry Kope in the Tisler Salvage street stocks, Luxemburg’s Scott Boulanger in the hobby stocks, Escanaba’s Jared Cech in the 600 Micro sprints and Oconto Falls Brian Johnson (sport fours).
303 cars showed up to race the two day Classic in 2012.
On Friday night heat races will be run in all divisions, including the Iron Horse Sales & Service Badger Stock Tour presented by Kick Ass Drive Train & Iron Horse Recycling. A full program for the Custom Windows Plus Badger Mod Tour presented by Gandrud Chevrolet will be run on Friday night. An additional full mod show will be run Saturday night, along with last chance races and main events, including the 30 lap $1,000-to-win A main for the BST.
Free camping is offered and Annex will be playing in the party tent Friday night after the races, and RPM will be playing Saturday night as well. A breakfast buffet will be served both Saturday and Sunday morning from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The bar will be open beginning Wednesday night with a full menu being served.
On Friday the pit area opens at 2 p.m., the main gate opens at 4 p.m. with racing starting at 6 p.m. On Saturday the pits open at 10 a.m., the main gate opens at 1 p.m. and racing is set to begin at 3 p.m. The raindate, if needed, will be Sunday, October 6.
On Friday adult admission is $12, students 11-15 yrs $10 and kids 10 and under free with a paid adult. Saturday Adults are $15, students 11-15 yrs $12 and 10 and under free with a paid adult. Two day passes are available for $25 for adults and $20 for students.
