By Edward Anschutz

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) August 10 – The 3rd Annual “King of The Hill” IMCA Modified Tournament will take place this Saturday, August 13 at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway. The winners purse has now been pushed to $1500. The night will be brought to you by Witt Peninsula Ford.

Due to the winners share going up the racing format for this event has received another tweak to allow more drivers with a chance at taking home the $1500 pay day. Each Modified driver racing Saturday will draw a chip, this will determine your opponent and designate if you will start high or low by even and odd numbers. At intermission we will have 2 cars on the track at a time they will race for 2 laps with the winner moving on. All the winners will be put in a race at the end of the night, those drivers will come out and draw for their spot in front of the grandstands. After the drawing they will line up and have a 12 lap shoot out to find out who will be crowned King of The Hill.

A short list of drivers who have verbally committed to racing Saturday night Brian Mullen, Benji LaCrosse, Art and Jared Siefert, Jamie Schmidt, Kyle Lentz, Dan Ratajczak, Todd Dart, Jay Matthias, James Tebon, Mike and Tony Wedelstadt and many more. This should be one of the best races of the season with these All-Star caliber drivers. If a driver could pull of the feature win and win the tournament they stand close to taking home $2000.

Special thanks to Dan, Scott and Angie from Packerland Whey the original creators of this event and to Joe Hernandez and Paul J. Georgia for helping push this event to $1500. Pit gate prices will remain the same $20 if you are a member $25 if not. The kids Big Wheel races have been postponed to August 20.
