141 Speedway was tonight’s destination, I wanted to make the trip to Shawano Speedway for Reed Luepke/Child Cancer Awareness Night, but other duties prevented me from doing so.
At 141, it was a caution filled night. There’s not much else I can say, I was pretty busy tonight, didn’t get much time to watch. What I did see, was people spinning out, and a couple people hit the walls. I became quite obvious that the turn four wall at 141 is much stronger than the wall before turn one at Seymour. Speaking of Seymour, I found out why the lights keep going out, but I’m going to be nice and not pick on the responsible party. At least not out in the open.
The next part is from Wi Dirt Racin’s Shawn Fredenberg, (Dirt4Racn):
Reed Luepke Night at the race draws a huge crowd as fans and drivers come out to show their support for Childhood Cancer Awareness. Tables and fence lines were filled as items from drivers poured in, from door panels to shirts to Sponsor gifts. Fans showed their support by purchasing tickets for bucket raffles or bidding on items in the Silent Auction area. Several items erupted into bidding wars with fans showing their support for not only their drivers but also Childhood Cancer Awareness. After the final checker flag flew for the night there was 5 different winners on the track, but in the end the biggest winner was raising awareness for Childhood Cancer. St. Vincents Childhood Cancer Center and the HANDS project which visits child cancer patients and supplies painting items for them all benefit from tonight’s proceeds.
